You always find an angle lol
Not really an ‘angle’ is it though.
Someone queries the population of islands and areas that used to be very sparsely populated for good reason, the reason they became populated seems relevant.

People in Australia whinge about heatwaves, all those nasty starved white boy bread loaf thieves didn't ask to be shipped here.

So...
1. Develop a concept based an old boomer male who realises he missed out on all the cool things Adelaide has to offer.
2. Call him 'old mate' to appeal to Eastern seaboard Gen Xers and younger.
3. Produce an ad that only shows all the things an old boomer male would want to do and not the things that Eastern seaboard Gen Xers and younger would want to do.

If you're going to show Adelaide Oval, show him being in the crowd, on the Hill. Not climbing the ****ing roof.
If you're going to show a winery, show Alpha Box & Dice, not some nondescript garden setting.
If you're going to show a beach, show Pt Willunga or Pt Noarlunga, not the most generic beach in existence.

Where's Pirate Life, where's Lot100, where's Big Bang?
Where's the Art Gallery?
Where's Peel/Leigh/Bank St night life?
Where's Gilbert/Cranka/Exeter/Grace Emily pubs?
Where's Fino/Africola/Oggi/Chianti/Nu's Lantern?
Where's the mountain bike trails at Eagle Park?
Where's the cyclocross track in the west parklands?
Where's the dirt jumps in the south parklands?

This is an ad aimed at non-boomers, but written by, produced by, and approved by, boomers with no idea of what the **** Adelaide actually has that appeals to people under 50.

It's a joke and we are the punchline.

It's hot in a lot of places in Australia. Coober Pedy is the only one to my knowledge where people live underground. Why is that?

The vast majority of Coober Pedy's inhabitants are mole people, so they generally tend to live where they're most comfortable (underground).

If you were going for a scenery type ad the foothills and further on are beautiful in the cooler months they never seem to utilize it.

The TDU rolls around & the parched bone dry horror is beamed to the world I see nothing appealing about how Adelaide looks in summer.

Check out all this ****ing dead grass jeez it's great

Kind of looks like Ken in 5-10 years (depending on the coke intake). A not so subtle hint by a sleeper Port fan for Ken to make the most of his time in Adelaide before we drive him to the SE boarder and drop-punt him clear across the Glenelg river in the general direction of Geelong. The look of lament and tear in the eye while staring down at a packed, cheering AO (something he has struggled to achieve in the last few years) is the dead giveaway .
