"The Burton x Pirate Life Frontside Ale is a gently hopped smasher, sentimentally modelled on a classic American Cream Ale that is popular on the slopes in Canada. A touch of corn makes this beer light and dry meaning that the mild, fruity hop characters of Motueka and Taiheke can shine through."

The mosaic is great but I like everything of there's I've tried so far. This one being $15 for a four pack made the choice easy though.

never had a beer that tasted like corn. they're taking the piss there surely.

the mismatch pangea IPA is a cracker and i think i enjoy it over the mosiac. if you see one give it a try

Watched the last 10 minutes of the NRL 1v4 QF.

Melbourne Storm have lost 4 games by an aggregate of 8 pts - ie 1,2,1 and 4 pt loses and were hosting Canberra Raiders who had lost 9 games.

The Raiders scored a try and converted to go 12-10 up with about 3 minutes to go. Thy gave away a penalty with about 6 seconds left, luckily about 20m from their try line, ie Storm 80m from their try line.

Cameron Smith took the penalty put it over the side line and down the line about 30m. They took the tap and Munster did a huge bomb that 2 Raiders players mis reading it, it bounced I thought it would go to a Storm player but it took a bit of a strange bounce and a Raiders player ran on to it, ran over the side line and game over. Was certain the Storm would pinch it.

The Effects
Corn adds a slightly sweet smoothness to the beer and is often included in light lagers and cream style ales. It can also be used to lighten a fuller, denser English style beer. It is hard to taste an actual corn flavor in most beers, however, its impact results in smoother, light beers. Rice is even less flavorful than corn and produces a dry, clean taste.

I saw them for sale in regular size cans at Dan's the other day. Still expensive though. It must have something to do with the alcohol content.
Last time I bought some it was like $35 for 4 (large) cans. Pales into insignificance though when I realise how much I spend at their brewery when I go into Robbie's Chop Shop for a haircut.

Vunivalu wasn't even out, haha. Suck it, Storm. We get a home Prelim now.
At least one of the (three) teams I support isn't complete arse.

I usually just buy a single can if I feel like treating myself. $10+ a can is hard to justify sometimes.

nothing wrong with good ol stones. avoid ginger joe and just stick to the regular ginger beer

Stones is ginger wine, isn’t it?

Completely unhelpful recommendation but the ginger beer they used to brew at the Port Dock was fantastic

It was! I used to order a big batch for our client Xmas gifts but they just stopped making it.

they make a ginger beer too.

stones mac and whisky is a good way to end up proper f’ed real quick

A bottle of Stones Ginger Wine is mandatory on our camping trips.

I’m a purist when it comes to whiskey and bourbon, nothing in it apart from one ice cube.

I think they stopped brewing everything. Then shut down. A pity - they were doing boutique brewing 20 years before it became a thing

They did a great stout too, Ace of Spades. Way ahead of their time.
