Every cash dash looks like the same now, you've got a circular tacho and speedo, and in between an LCD screen or something for the rest. This is one reason why I find 70s to 90s car more interesting.

Nice strawman. Anything can reduce CO2 levels is worth pursuing.

Not sure what sort of scale this technology would need to be invested in to have any sort of useful effect though?

He’s referring to the “but are concerned that this will slow down the push towards renewables and we have a moral obligation to something something” bit.

If, theoretically, this makes fossil fuel consumption carbon-neutral, what’s the problem? Especially given people seem to assume solar panels and their lithium batteries float down from the clouds on leaves made of good feelings.

$400k for a Beetle? i understand the history and its in immaculate condition but that seems a tad overpriced imo.

It's not a car. It is a piece of history. Immaculately refurbished. It is bordering on being priceless.

I used to have a 66 1300, had to sell it after the first divorce! Love a bug!

The best car I ever owned was a 1971 VW Type 3. Had the same 1600 motor as its Porsche cousin.

I called it my Tonka Porsche.

I miss the old Top Gear... The Grand Tour just doesn't do it for me.

Grand Tour feels too scripted/staged.

Peak Top Gear just stuck the three hosts in a situation with cars and they made magic bouncing off each other.

A mate had to pay his ex-wife something like 50k so she could keep her car after their divorce. They bought an SS wagon and a Statesman before it. He wanted to keep the wagon. Then he found it has held its value much better than the Statesman despite it being 20k cheaper when new, and had to pay the difference in value to her.

Lol

Reminds me of the time I came home from night shift at 7 in the morning to find brown smears up the staircase, over the walls and on the light switch

After some investigation I worked out my flat mate had come home drunk and had grabbed my left over marinated steaks and ate them with his bare hands.

When I called him later that afternoon to have a laugh about it he was very relieved. When he got up for work he saw brown smears over his sheets pillow and walls, couldn’t remember what he did last night and freaked out and left to work and hadn’t wanted to think about how they got there.

He can be a loose unit on the beers

Went to the central markets today for the first time in forever. Loved it. Might make it a weekly or fortnightly thing.

Walking along, look at the Something Wild store that Motlop owns and theres Danyle Pearce filleting some meat.
Yeah but Sotos fish and chips. Nothing compares. Back you're way Sunday Maccas. It's Flat head and chips. Largs Pier Motel. Good times
