I've just got back from Japan, spent three weeks there, had an amazing time!

I went Tokyo, Osaka, Nara, Kyoto, Kobe, Himeji, Hiroshima, Fukuoka, Hakone and then back to Tokyo

Highlights include Kyoto, the baseball in Hiroshima (best stadium in Japan), Golden Gai in Shinjuku Tokyo, amazing food (including spending about $250 on A5 wagyu beef in Kobe, yes really), Himeji castle, Fushimi Inari-taisha 4km hike, Super Potato in Akihabara (a store that had Super Nintendos and other old consoles in original packaging, it was a like a museum to me!) and riding the shinkansen

I didn't like the heat (I wouldn't go in August again), loud cicadas everywhere you went, not being able to find antiperspirant deodorant anywhere, the smoking in bars and restaurants, how much they charged for fruit, how much they charged for pizza and the lack of bins anywhere

I watched the Port v Freo game at my mate's house in Setagaya, he has a WatchAFL subscription. The only Aussie pub in Tokyo was Bar Quest in Roppongi (one of the sketchiest areas of Tokyo) and it was so sh*t! It was like Checkmates or Strats, but without the strippers, and they didn't show AFL, and there was shisha for some inexplicable reason

I'm already planning another trip there I loved it so much!

The alarmist nonsense comes mainly from climate projections. Climate modeling can't accurately predict global temperatures 3 years from now, there's no chance any 80+ year predictions have any validity at all. It's just not possible to accurately predict all the variables in a complex system that we still don't understand. Even historical analysis of temperatures is unreliable, just look at the Michael Mann fiasco. It's actually difficult finding proper critical analysis of either side of the climate debate, instead we're left with arguments presented in silos.
