Buckley has low grade OP and has struggled since Christmas and will have a much reduced role this year playing as a fwd. He is still 2 weeks away from playing any sort of game.
Fraser's knee is causing him big problems. He hobbled off the track today after 10mins going at 30%. He can't run. The operation he had pre-christmas looks like not being very successful. He is unlikely to play RD1 and may be more like RD6 and a a fwd, wont be playing ruck. Bryan/Richards will cover.
Didak okay for Rd2. Licuria to play up fwd. Davis/R.Shaw and Johnson as midfielders this yr and Rocca in the GS 1 out.

Source???
Fraser getting BOG against the Saints shows me that he's over any knee problem. I see Dids coming back Round 4 and give him two weeks in the VFL to find form and rd 2 we are in perth playin the weagles and i wouldnt risk him. I see Buckley's role similar to that of last year. Forward line and propping into the midfield when needed. They are nursing Bucks thru pre-season and they did the same last year. They know if Buckley does his hammy again adios. Licuria most certainly looks like he's maintaining his role as a tagger from the last 2 pre-season games.

No reason to disbelieve it.

Fraser has been missing most of the preseason and its a known fact that he had a knee operation. Richards and Bryan have played every game so theres no doubt that they are being groomed as a ruck combination so Fraser can play forward.

Its also a known fact that Buckley has had hammy twinges and o-p at his age would not be a surprise.

We seem to field a surprisingly strong line up after much debate about who's going to come up and who isn't.

We have to hope we're fitter than current concerns though, otherwise it'll be 04/05 again after half a dozen rounds.

Licuria up forward? Of all the small forward options we’ve got that’s well down the list. BP I could see. If he’s playing up forward it would be to preserve his legs and give the kids plenty of exposure. If Fraser has a bung knee we are in serious strife.

He may be down the list as far as small forwards go but he can be a pretty hand forward. He is a better forward than a backman. But there is no point him being a forward with our options.

bee dee's threads are comical..time to give up the "scoops" bee dee, your strike rate is pretty poor. :)

I think the only "scoops" he gets right are already reported ones...

What about the fact that it's bee dee?

The guy follows the volume method of rumours - If he makes up enough of them, some of them are bound to come true.

FWIW I like bee dee's threads. He is far more interesting than most other posters combined, not afraid to tell us how he sees it either. (IF he's right) I hope some of you can apologize for the disrespect shown towards him, but as usual we are hoping that he's wrong. Nobody wants to see Josh Fraser on the sidelines, we may suffer the consequences in his absence, and there is every possibility that Guy Richards may not step up; along with Chris Bryan, who will be in for a change of luck at his new home.

Licuria played as a Half Forward Flank LAST YEAR, Kicked four goals against the Roos doing it too! MM is on the record as saying he wants Licca to learn that role to provide a place for him in the on ground rotation other than the midfeild.

if Richards and Bryan can actually brake even in the Ruck, why wouldn't you play Fraser as a forward? He is mobile, good at ground level, and he can snap goals, he would be super-hard to match up on. Also if the club is easing him into the season proper, we have a great option for the role in Reid, after all we are talking about the third tall forward here after Pebs and Cloke, and both of those guys seem up and about at the mo.

Bucks played forward a lot last year as well, and he is a champion ther, with Rusling out for a while he will be needed there.

I reckon we have a pretty good forward setup available for this year, compare with the Saints for example;

Kosi - Fraser
Gerigh - Rocca
Hamill - Buckley
Milne - Davis
Reiwoldt - Cloke
Voss - Licuria (and lets not forget Dids when he gets back!)

add to that the guys who might be pressing for a game in Medhurst, Egan, Reid, Cook etc and folks like Bryan, Maxy, O'Bree etc who can rotate through and you have a good mix.

As per usual our backline look at least repectable with the dour Presti, Wakes looking in top shape, Clement getting back up to speed and Maxwell as agressive and commited as he was before the break, if Iles or O'Brien or Stanley can step up and play BP then we can release Heater to the HBF and get some good rebound outta there then we might have something, I also reckon Thomas looks very good playing out of the half-back line and that may be a place for him to spend some time in 07.

As per usual it is in the midfeild where we look most suspect. Johnson looks like he may be in red hot form this pre-season which is good, Medhurst may release Davis to play more through there, Pendles looks class in close provided the ball is off the deck, Burns has looked good so far, as has O'Bree, my tip is that we see a lot of Burns, O'Bree, Pendles and Johnson as starting four mids, they combine a lot of qualities that we need in there, good gound level ability from O'Bree, good hardman stuff from Burns to protect and tackle, great time and spatial awareness from Pendles and good run and penetrating disposal into attack from Johno.

Beyond those guys I feel the guys we will be mostly rotating through will be Swan, Davis, Lockyer and Rhyce with Thomas and Heath and some others to get some time there too.

So basically Bee Dee could be wrong about all the injuries and we could still line up exactly the way he is suggesting.
