I just found you can speak to the players every Monday using a telephone chat service! Anyone tried? (7.30 - 8.30pm Perth time on 1900 999111) Greg Harding & Michael Collica are on tonight!

You wanna know what the catch is? They charge like 90c a minute. And you are not guaranteed to talk to them, you can listen to them chatting with other people and if you are lucky you might get a question in. The club is rich enough, why the heck are they charging for this?

Biggest rip off ever. The eagles should get these boys to chat online for FREE.

Why should they do anything for free???
Do you realise that they are actually talking on the phone for an hour at night (when they usually spend time with their family or partners) for free. They are giving up their time to talk to fans, who they probably dont want to talk to anyway.

You seriously think the proceeds from these phone charges go into the players pockets. You're kidding yourself.

And even if these players do get paid to talk with fans, i think the club can afford to pay them the fee.

And don't tell me they could be spending time with their families, because each player does this like only once a year.

They may only do this promotion once a year, but your forgetting that they do plenty of others in their spare time too.

The issue here isn't whether they do it in their spare time or not, its that the eagles are charging their fans for this.

They made several million dollars profit last year, where does all that money go?(certainly it does not get spent, otherwise they would have a $0 profit). Couldn't they spend $100 a week on this chat thing, rather than make fans pay?

In reality, no-one gets anything for nothing. So if you dont want to pay for the service (your lucky that you can speak to the players, as I dont know of any other club that offers this service) then dont use it.

You're looking at this from a corporate point of view. Try looking at this from a fans point of view.

membership fees go up every year, tickets go up even faster, eagles gear (geurnsey, flag, scarf, etc) are so expensive it's beyond a joke, and now they are making us pay for talking with a person.

the AFL website offers free online chat with a different player every week for free, certainly the eagles could do the same. Even if it's only for paid up members, it's still better than paying 90c a minute.

p.s. I would love to hear from other people on this

Talking about pricing going up, did you know Subiaco council is pressuring the Eagles and Dockers to include a transport levy in the membership and ticket fee next year. It means you get to go to the game on the bus included in your ticket. Subiaco Council reckons it will reduce the pain of so many cars in Subiaco on match day. I reckon it's a load of crap.

Doesn't the Eagles have a few players for online chats each week from their website?

Also another way of speaking to players is to phone 882 (6PR) on Tuesdays between 7pm-7.30pm in their weekly 'Talking Eagles' segment. It's hosted by Karl Langdon and they give out some prizes for the best caller. This week they had Rowan Jones and Chad Morrison.

Making us pay for public transport in the membership is silly. When I go to a game, the place I am staying at is near the ground so I just walk there, beats packing into the train and bus like sardines, as it was when I did take the train last year!

The option to have transport included in the membership was on offer this season. But given the current state of our public transport system, i dont feel safe enough to take the 45min trip home alone after a night game. =( So instead I park a fair way from the ground and walk.

The whole no parking zone is an absolute joke btw.

Were the residents kicking up the fuss really there before Subi oval? I wouldnt think so.

It's just silly. I agree, if we had a half decent transport system then it would be ok. Its not just that you might get clobbered on the train, but there is no where near enough carriages, there all filled to choccas.
