1. Can we start a petition that no one can post on here in the 24 hours following a loss, unless it is to post in the MVP thread. Something needs to be done about the amount of pure drivel if we get beaten. Wait until the emotions have died down and people have sobered up.

2. Damn I wish we got Burgess, Port look like the fittest team in the AFL along with Essendon. They have smashed everyone in the second half. I reckon we would have beaten Freo, and never let Carlton back in the game. We'd be sitting 4-1 with a very healthy percentage. Were we ever a chance to get him?

this is the more interesting bit, we were a chance, he just chose to go back somewhere he knows. think its more than just him making the difference.

And his initials are Ken Hinkley. Apparently he makes you want to run through brick walls. I'm happy with Dimma, but remember it was very close.

it was very very close. i too am very happy with dimma and think it was the correct choice, he has rebuilt the club. port had a lot more talent to work with when hinkley took over.

I hope Port haven't gone past us.

Port may have won, but they were down by 41 points at one point, and the score was 9.16 to 4.5. That's 25 shots to 9, margin could have been way worse playing at home against a struggling side missing arguably their most important player. So no, I am pretty sure Port haven't gone past us.

They have improved no doubt, but they've had a dream draw. If they beat North in Tassie though, they might have arrived.
We must win next week!

Here's something:

Regardless of 2012 form, we play all 3 unbeaten teams in the next month (Essendon, Geelong, Port Adelaide), as well as Melbourne.

And yet strangely enough, I feel we have a genuine chance to beat all 3 of them.

Am I delusional?

Sorry, but i just cannot see how one individual can make a team fitter stronger faster in six months when the 17 other clubs have comparable fitness staff and in most cases far superior facilities.

I would put their success down to Melbourne, Suns, GWS and to lesser extent the Cows and Eagles.

No doubt they have had a good draw, but the way they have run over teams in the second half is what has impressed me. Remember crows and eagles finished 4th and 5th last year, and so you would expect them to be more advanced with their fitness, but they got absolutely smashed and run over the top of.

No. Venting after a loss is: (a) therapy, and (b) one of the main reasons many come to Bigfooty.

Regardless, you must admit they've run out those games very well. Perhaps due to minimal opposition pressure, but it makes you wonder.

Just out of curiosity how many players did port let go when Ken arrived ??

Port Adelaide wont make the 8. The best thing they have done is keep contenders such as WC and Adelaide down for a little longer. Whether we beat them or not in 2 weeks time is the only relevance they have with us atm.

Trengrove and pittard are injured for Port, Trengrove will miss weeks after foot surgery and Pittard may play this week, I would think they would struggle against us (forwards) if those 2 are out against us.

I'm as impressed with Ports improvement as anyone else, but I don't think any of the teams they have beaten so far will be playing finals. Eagles may sneak in if they get their form back, but they all look like they will miss out.
