Ultimate Adelaide 22

Has anyone tried the exercise on the AFL website to pick the best 22 for the crows??

I had a really quick rough shot this morning. At the end it gives you what the fans have picked most in the positions, seems I got the back line as others have had it, and the Rucks/Rovers the same as well. However I was surprised to see that Tex isn't rating in any of the positions in the forward line.

This must be the hardest year ever to pick a starting 22 for round 1. There are so many options and so many good emerging players challenging established stars for spots. It is hard to believe that someone of the obvious promise and talent of Taylor Walker won't be in that 22.
But who goes out?

He's definitely in my Ultimate 22, but just won't be available.

would have Edwards spending some time on the bench and Stevens on if there was a 3rd tall in the oppositions forward line but his place could be taken by either Shaun McKernan or Phil Davis

Well Otten was in the side when I did it, I mean I know they say Ultimate, but shouldn't we atleast be half realistic? Oh and Rutten and Bock were only like 50-60% for the FB/CHB combo, thought that'd be 100%

I think the fans have got it pretty well right in their selections. I would add Sloane, McKernan, and Walker as emergencies, with Reilly and Douglas on notice. If they don't perform and show hardness in the NAB cup they will be replaced by Sloane. (Sloane may make it into the startiing 22 regardless if his form is good enough). All of the emergencies should be pressing for spots, and others as well. Best depth we have ever had!

Probably not the best weighted team TBH i would think Douglas or REilly would go out for a defender.

That is a cool application. The percentages obviously work solely on placement and not whether they are selected in the side.

I thought it may end up being easier to pick a side if there were no 28 and over players - wrong - it was still very difficult. Our depth is the absolute best it has ever been IMO.

I find that 4; Brad Symes, Brent Reilly, van Berlo and Douglas need to fit into just 2 spots, makes it really hard when selcting your team all provide similar positives and negatives to the side.

This years best 25 from those available:

Otten out. Stevens to his position.
McKernan in to take Stevens position as swing man forward/back/ruck
Walker in for Hentschel (sorry Henstchel good depth player but imo lacks agility and aerial ability in one on one contests for a KPP).
Burton to retain his spot on hff (imo has more upside than Hentschel when at his best remember 2008 and provides better balance for our forward line).
Reilly out for Sloane (sorry Reilly you have lost agility/versatility and speed of decision making). Will be good for him to have to get back to his best to force his way back. Again nice depth player.
Douglas out for Patrenko (Everyone always gets excited about Douglas every preseason because he always looks good at training but watching replays over the summer I still think its time for him to get overtaken by the more promising youngsters. Another depth player with experience.
Shirley out for Cook.

Btw these outs and ins are not necessarily a direct swap for their positions just spots in my top 25.
