Well there ya go - two Carlton supporters looking at the same incident come up with two different interpretations - no wonder umps have a hard time of it in officiating AFL- it isnt the umps -- it is the stupid AFL rules it is a structural fact of life , part of teh rich fabric of
have a close look at that video - as in a real close look...Cripps didn't deserve a free - all he did was drag his 'tagger' and fall into another Norfs player, spread-eagle himself on the ground with no Norfs blokes on him and get up and appeal for a free - he needs to change his tactics with taggers AND umps....we've already got Murph for the flop around and beg for a free role at Carlton.
Yeh they do, but the stats don't lie. We have the numbers to prove it.Funny. Every other club supporter says the same thing.

How anyone can defend these muppets after yesterday is beyond me. Tried their best to drag North over the line all day.
We have been crucified five games in a row now starting with the * game. It’s getting beyond ridiculous.
-Apparently you can smash someone studs up if he is wearing navy blue (would be a straight red in soccer).
-Some of the bullshit frees in front of North’s goal were beyond a joke. (Plowman HTB with zero opportunity, Mahoney diving to insinuate in the back against Simmo, some sort of interference by Murphy against Bailey Scott)
-That sequence of deliberate calls against Doc and then non-call for North.
-North received every 50/50 free
-Holding Cripps at every opportunity is allowed now
It’s a credit to our boys for hanging on the way they did.
How many free kicks is a good number? Just so we know once that number is reached there are no more free kicks for the rest of the matchIt seems to have crept into our team a lot in recent weeks and it's not a great look. Also if our players appeal to the umps too much, they may not pick out the 50/50 calls as much because they get the impression we are playing for free kicks.
I'm inclined to say the umpires need to let the game flow better - 56 frees in a shortened game is too many for mine.
Cool story brothylacine60 - give it up.
Umpires have ‘agendas’ and ‘rule of the week’ set by the AFL. This believe it or not is fact.
They are also biased like standard supporters towards teams and players they dislike. This is also human nature.
How do I know? I’ve actually spoken to an ex-umpire and please don’t ask me who!
Sorry to spoil your fun. End of my discussion on this matter.
Cool story bro

Appreciate your work there, image one is pretty blatant Norths arm across Cripps neck - did the ump actually see this - who knows I dont...if the ump had the benefit of seeing it and not acting - then I think legitimate questions should/could be asked - but we don't know - all we see is what the camera shows- that isn't the same as what the ump sees...If you zoom in and watch closely, IMHO it should be a free kick to Cripps. Anderson’s arm goes around Cripps neck and another player from North blocks Cripps ability to contest the ball. Bewildering! Furthermore, the manner in which the holding the ball rule is being umpired is farcical at the moment.

Weve been averaging 34 per game until this week.....How many free kicks is a good number? Just so we know once that number is reached there are no more free kicks for the rest of the match

Umpires would not be high on my listDo yourself a favour - get out and speak to people. - bro.
So 34 is your number? No more to be laid after that?Weve been averaging 34 per game until this week.....
Of course I'm not suggesting a cap, you're throwing that rediculous straw man out thereSo 34 is your number? No more to be laid after that?
If there are only 15 frees to 3/4 time do we expect 19 in the last qtr?

Maybe both clubs were sloppy. Compare the way we played yesterday to the game against port, totally different. We were very sloppy with the ball and just as sloppy giving away free kicks.Of course I'm not suggesting a cap, you're throwing that rediculous straw man out there
I am saying that a much higher than average count is worthy of review to understand why, and whether the umpires from that game are over officiating
The overturned shot at goal was the correct decision.honestly, I thought yesterday was poor for both.
They got unlimited instant HTB and holding on, where we didn't, however we received two encroaching 50m penalties where they missed 2 of ours. We received a trip/taking legs out, they didn't when Jones did it to their forward. We received a shot at goal overturned.
The problem was not that umps were against us... it was really poorly umpired game

do you recall any free kicks that in your assessment were ok? for either side?Murphy should have got a free anyway, got hit high in the marking contest.
