As mentioned on the show tonight, I was sent a message advising the coterie members from various groups have had a gut full and reached out to Gale today saying enough is enough.

Allegedly Gale has since organised a meeting with the afl for this week.

It is a worrying trend the number of people on here talking about how the club can stick their money, where does that get us I’ll tell you 37 years of nowhere and a multiple save our skins campaigns.
Sure to a degree the club could be seen to have a stronger stance but that hasn’t worked in the past, Balme on radio pasting the umpires for example. If what people are saying is right and the AFL does have it out for RFC to some degree then going public will likely make it worse particularly with the egos that run organisation and the media in their back pocket.
It has to be tactful and will probably take sometime and in the meantime less membership and profit will see us dwindle and go from a powerhouse with clout supporting the AFL and smaller clubs to asking for assistance.
Don’t hurt the club hurt the AFL, keep your membership, don’t go to other games or away games and turn off the media.

It's gonna be weird rewatching games from this era after they finally get rid of STAND. It's such a ridiculous part of the game having them yell STAND all the time and then all the silly rules around how to STAND and when you can stop STANDING. What an unnecessary and stupid addition to the game that has been. Utter clowns in charge.

That's all well and good, but we know nothing will come of it. May as well just start telling the players to go the knuckle now so we can't physically field a team. However, it is good that people higher up than us are jack of it too

I think you'll find just about everyone in here will only watch Richmond and consume Richmond media. Hardly anyone gives a shit about the wider comp

and now the club wants more money out of its supporters but what do we get for the money? a soft cok pathetic administration who get cornholed by the umps every week? f that. I would rather give my hard earned to my ex wife to blow on her crack habit.

it's not just the number of frees that are paid against us but the time and situation in which contentious one's like Thomson Dows 50 happen in a game. it is always when the game is on the line and kills pur momentum.

As a fifteen season paid member I have just about had it. I can't remember the last time I felt like we had the rub of the green with the umps....
maybe we all need to wear fair go umps t shirts to the games ?!
They get enough from my membership. I'm not giving them money to clean bricks.

So the soft **** needed a cattle prod from the supporters

Gary Lyon reckons the 50 we copped at half time was legit and maybe it was but the problem is would that 50 been paid if it was another club?

I say no way.

And that is where the problem lies.

Selective decision making depending on if you wear the Richmond jumper.

How many times have we seen Richmond umpired to the exact letter of the law then for the rest of the round, the opposite happens?

Is there any footage of this incident?

they are doing an experiment on rfc, seeing how long it takes for the fans to either a. invade the field in protest b. stop attending where they will magically remove the umpiring so we start again and c . just cop it sweet for years

we are currently c

they'll then apply this to any future club who threatens to have a dynasty like we did. the afl DO NOT want dynasties FACT

Only if Geelong.

Highlights the overall issue with the framework the umpires work under

It’s mostly based on interpretations of individual umpires so decisions are inherently inconsistent

How can two similar acts have two different outcomes but both be seen as correct under the rules? I don’t care if it’s a 50 against us on the weekend IF that’s how the rule is written but when you highlight the Sydney example now the AFL need to come out and say that not paying the 50 was the wrong decision and the umpire made a mistake

Until we have full time professional umpires that work through a simplified framework shit like this will continue to happen

None of this feel for the game, just the rules in black and white
If a player does x or y it’s always a free kick no grey areas so that if mistakes are clearly made umpires can easily review the choices and instead of having a way out to justify being wrong by claiming it’s a grey area or feel of the game or some other bullshit they have a clear outcome that should of been called and can work from and build consistency

HAHA look what the CFL brought out after our rort.

They should be wearing light blue for Richmond games but,CFL CFLing.

They do have a feel for the game most times until the Richmond game comes up and that goes out the window.

Remember that time the AFL appealed Houli's two game suspension. Manifestly inadequate. Yet here we are copping manifestly inadequate umpiring for years now.
Maynard lol.

That meeting will go nowhere due to the fact I can almost guarantee you he doesn't have the right numbers or the right questions to ask.

What Gale needs to show the AFL is:
1. Each clubs Frees Against (the ones they give away) statistics over the last year years. I am in the middle of the same analysis and from what I am seeing is that apart from a few teams like Hawthorn, every team on average is on significantly better behaviour against us. What he also should show is the number of frees that interstate teams give away at the G against us VS against other sides. Again, the interstate teams seem to be on fantastic behaviour against us at the G but get done in against other teams

2. Average Numbers of total frees per game. This is to dispute the argument that "Well your players are just so undisciplined that's why you are constantly at the bottom". Cool story bro, why is it then that we average around the middle of the pack for total frees per game? If we are just giving them away so much shouldn't our frees per game be so much higher?

3. The VFL free kick stats and compare them to the AFL. This would also shut up the "gamestyle" tools because if we are so undisciplined then how come the VFL team has a different free stats? Also do the umpires in the VFL have the same training?

Lastly the questions that should be ask are;
1. After seeing the data are you able to see our point of view?
2. If you were to put your finger on why this is happening what would be your view?
3. We would like to view and each and every piece of vision that the umpires have used for training for the last 3 years. <-- This is not really a question here but it is a request. The club needs to get their hands on this and just do a simple count of the times the vision includes a Tiger player giving away a free kick or being the player in the wrong. If that number is high and a lot higher than the rest of the other teams, we can say to the AFL that they are clearly conditioning their umpires to view Richmond players in a negative light.

HAHA look what the CFL brought out after our rort.

what better way to celebrate umpiring week than saving bevvos career and riding one of their favourites of the last decade in the shitescray scatdogs against Richmond

"Feel for the game" is something that should never be said and it is the media's fault for starting this bullshit. An umpire gives away a free kick that is there in the rules during a pivotal part of the match and the media start with the "Oh you have to have the feel for the game blah blah blah".

I don't think that any other sport has this bullshit standard. Massive fan of F1 and yeah the stewards are inconsistent in their rulings week to week (Driver's advocate changes week to week) but they never ever have a ruling regarding a "feel for the sport". If you run another driver off the road they look at the vision and ask "whose corner was it?" and then they make their decision.
