You missed:

• Being fined for surrounding the ref, not once but twice.
• Maupay non penalty on Gabriel.
• Saka having more yellow cards then his opponents have for fouls on him, despite being one of the more fouled players in the league with many of those being in the final third or on the counter.

We are not going to have every decision go our way but I don't think we have got one this season. Which in a title the fine margins can make a massive difference.

The closest things I'll say we've had to going our way are, softish penalty on Jesus Vs Liverpool Thiago foul and a close offside for the late winner vs United.

Honestly though I do find the referee stuff tiresome. It’s ****ing farcical however to fail to utilise the lines. That’s what the very system is in place for. There was actually 2 offsides in that passage of play.

For the money the PL generates, and it’s global brand, it was a disgraceful weekend for these types of decisions.

I think Brentford deserved a point in the context of the overall match, and yes there’s no guarantee they wouldn’t have equalised later on etc etc etc, however to “drop” 2 points, given how fine the margins are in this league, over such a thing is ridiculously bad. There’s human error and then there’s unacceptable incompetence.

I think VAR is pointless in some scenarios where it’s still left up to interpretation but something basic like checking offside and not using lines is farcical. Every single offside should be checked/lines used. Not even a question.

From memory there was a goal disallowed for a foul in the build up that I thought was soft-ish. I could be wrong though, memory a bit a hazy on this one. I’m glad they fixed that pre match VAR issue because yes it was required to correct that late drama with the penalty/red card etc.

Can’t recall a league match for Arsenal this big/important in many years. It’s huge.

I hope no moments of madness or implosions this time. And funnily enough I no longer worry about Xhaka - this time it’s Zinchenko. Seemed very amped up in the Cup match when he came on and has been a bit too heated at times in recent matches.

Would give serious thought to Trossard starting.
