Looks exhausted for a few games now

Yes. The guy is a machine. Would’ve been great to have another defender available here so Norgaard could have taken minutes off Merino or Zubimendi in midfield.

We need to be careful though with Merino. Hopefully though with Jesus and Gyokeres now back in the frame, his minutes can be eased.

Speaking of Jesus, he offers something so different and unique. A very crafty player that wants to be involved, feel the ball, as opposed to Gyokeres who is largely reliant upon delivery. It’s a nice contrast and option to have.

Jesus looked very sharp and I saw a stat that he had more touches and shots than Gyokeres did. Given he can also play wide, he’s a hell of a player to now have back in the squad for what’s going to be an intense month or two.

We conceded 18 shots this morning which is such a long way from the Arsenal we now know, but very understandable with the amount of change and different players coming in and out (how many different back 4s is that now?).

Despite all of that, to still win 3-0 away in the champions league without Saka, Rice, Gabriel, Saliba, Timber, Calafiori and Trossard starting is remarkable really.

6 from 6 wins with only 1 goal conceded in the competition. Phenomenal.

Just hook this to my ****ing veins.

Why are people worried about Gyokeres? The guy got injured in his best game for the club and is only now starting to get the minutes into his legs. It all feels a little contrived...
Apart from that game he hasn't shown a lot. Doesn't get to the right spots, awful first touch and hold up play and can't stop falling over

So there's been no positives to his play, especially pre-injury? No correlation between what Gyokeres has offered and the improved output of players like Martinelli and Trossard? How often has Gyokeres cleared the line from oppo corners? How much of an impact does his brute strength have on Big Gabi being such a threat at set pieces? Why are players like Martinelli, Trossard and Jesus allowed to ease back into the team, but Gyokeres needs to be banging in goals from the get go?

I suggest people go back and watch that 1st half against Burnley. The team and Gyokeres were clicking. It was immense and so unfortunate that he got injured at that point. The team has had to adapt to Merino being the centre forward. Completely different player. Now that Gyokeres is back, we need to adapt again.

Can Gyokeres get better? Yes. He improved game on game up until his injury. No pre-season and playing huge minutes. But the team need to get better as well. They need to get back to the levels we reached playing with Gyokeres against Burnley. Keeping in mind, too, Gyokeres has rarely played with Odegaard this season.

Sorry I find this narrative stupid.
