What an incredible opportunity for Arsenal to capitalise on 3 consecutive draws for City and go out and win tomorrow morning. A potential 8 point lead sounds wonderful to me at this point of the season.

Not only that, our signings that have added depth is a massive difference to previous seasons where we've had players like Holding, Mari, Viera etc come in as cover for injuries. Looking at our bench now is mad compared to what it had been for a long time. It was one or two decent options on the bench and then average players. It feels...different. It feels....like for the first time in a long time Arsenal are not only putting in the effort, but getting the luck that is often needed to be Champions over a season.
Absolutely. I think all of us here are being reserved but understand how important it has been to get through this Xmas period and potentially be 8 points ahead. We can technically afford to lose to City as long as we win the rest.It feels...different. It feels....like for the first time in a long time Arsenal are not only putting in the effort, but getting the luck that is often needed to be Champions over a season.
I still think it's complete nonsense to talk about a title winning points lead in the middle of January. IF Arsenal beat Liverpool and get out to an 8 point lead, it's still only 3 wins difference. The Premier League is so so so competitive that there are no guaranteed results. Each game has to be played like a cup final.
Look at the media bobble heads and opposing fans talking shit at the beginning of the month; Man City with 6 games won in a row, Arsenal with a last-minute away loss to Villa leading to a 2 point gap between the two clubs:
"Here comes Pep's unstoppable machine"
"Man City on their typical league winning run"
"Arsenal bottle job in full swing"
......Man City have now drawn 3 games in a row, Arsenal have won their last 3. The gap between the two clubs could be 8 points in the space of just 4 games. But who says it won't swing back the other way? Arsenal were on a great run in the 23/24 season, then in the space of just 5 games, suffered 3 losses and 1 draw, effectively blowing any hope of the title.
After tonight, there will still be 51 points to play for this season. People declaring champions or writing teams title off in the middle of January are complete idiots.
Are Arsenal in a good position? Yes. Could that change in a heartbeat? Yes.
Don't swallow the hype that being Champions is a foregone conclusion no matter what the result is tonight.
Arteta has learnt to rotate alot more and put trust in his depth. That goes a LONG way.Not only that, our signings that have added depth is a massive difference to previous seasons where we've had players like Holding, Mari, Viera etc come in as cover for injuries. Looking at our bench now is mad compared to what it had been for a long time. It was one or two decent options on the bench and then average players.
You look at some of the City benches in the past and there would be 5 or 6 players that would easily start for any other team that also cost a lot of money, which is what we have now.
Who liver foolsThat was woeful
