I think there’s only 2 points between 3rd and 14th. It’s very congested in that part of the table. It will come down to results on the final game. City home to Gala, surely they go through.

City will finish top 8. Newcastle away to PSG, Chelsea away to Napoli and Sporting away to Athletic Club and Spurs away Eintracht. Enough will drop points for them to slide in.
They have to beat Galatasary first.

And the way they're playing at the moment, I don't think they will. They were diabolically bad against Bodo. Guehi in will help but gee their defence has looked awful in their last 2 games.

Damn. Didn’t have a great feeling about this one and it came to fruition. So long since we’ve conceded 3 goals as well. That’s a bad result. 7 point lead becomes 4.

Can't see us winning trophies with Arteta. His management style is more Moyes than Wenger or Pep. He's so conservative and boring. Our attack is awful and the creativity in midfield is about what you'd expect from a midfield made up of mostly Real Sociedad players. Take away the own goals and we've scored only one goal in like 300 minutes now.
Also what's the point of Madueke? On track for less goal involvements than Nwaneri last season.

Think Berta's a bit of fraud too tbh. Is Hincapie really any better than Kiwior? None of Gyokeres, Eze, Madueke, Norgaard or him have been great.

We all know eze is a good player though from his crystal palace days.. thats more on arteta not utilising him properly

Agree that Arteta doesn't use him properly and not sure Odegaard deserves to be starting ahead of him so much but for a good player he is awful on defense

No player is perfect, a lot of attacking minded players arent great on defensive duties, they would have known this when signing off on his transfer as I said previously it's more on arteta for not figuring out how to utilise him properly

He cant figure out how to utilise any of our fwds atm who are all underperfoming besides maybe trossard who is performing to about expected abilities

If an Arsenal player did this at Old Trafford I have zero doubts in my mind it would be paid.

Also Dorgu using his arm to control the ball before his worldie. 100% gets ruled out if it's an Arsenal player.

It's like the Fergie days again.

This puts us in a tricky position. Still a handy lead but it could practically evaporate in a weekend. We need some attacking players to find form.

That was a slog to watch. First time in a long time I’ve felt Arsenal deserved little from the match and the result I can’t fault at all.

Sure, that’s a handball for Maguire. So bizarre how quickly the “check” lasted, it was cursory at most. For me it’s a handball. The Dorgu one I don’t want goals chalked out for that. His hands were by his side and it was a cracking finish, would’ve been very harsh to rule out.

That’s not the reason Arsenal lost. Arsenal were the reason Arsenal lost.

Open play chances have been drying up the last few games. There’s a consistent difference in the league versus champions league. We tear teams apart because they play. They play their games and Arsenal feast on turnovers, pressing them down, and exploiting the space left behind.

In the league, entirely different story. For the last few seasons teams set up for a draw before the opening whistle. And hope that playing on the counter gives them a goal at the other end. This season it’s next level though, even Pep had a back 6 at times.

Arsenal just have to be better, plan better, have different options to overcome this. And it’s not just one player, Odegaard again was poor however most of him teammates were too. We cannot seem to break down a way through the middle like we can in Europe.

Even that Nwaneri goal he scored for Marseille yesterday, as good as it was, just wouldn’t really expect to see that here in the premier league. Driving through the middle from the centre circle almost, you just don’t get that space to work with in the PL.

Arsenal have been misfiring in attack for a while now. I keep feeling there’s gears to come from this team, levels to go still, but it’s not quite happening at the moment aside from drive and drabs (such as pounding Villa in that 15 minute burst). We looked poorer after the opening goal here which is so bizarre to watch, as Arsenal are usually imperious after scoring first.

The gift from Zubimendi was awful. Every now and then teams concede a howler like that because of playing out from the back. It’s part of the risk.

But the thing is I can’t help but shake, we seem to take more risks at the back than we do in attack. And it’s weird to say that. Arsenal become more methodological and controlled and timid at times the further up the pitch we go. Whether coaching, or nerves, I’m not sure.

But it’s an issue that needs correction. Because we’ve been able to paper over the cracks recently with set piece excellence and some handy goals in the league.

But then we have a game like this where we’re off the boil and United crack two fantastic goals from distance. And that’s the game. That’s the fine margins we’re dealing with in the league.

This was a bad loss. And just like that, 7 points (that should’ve been more really) becomes 4.

FWIW this isn't me blaming the officials for the result. I don't think we deserved the win, but **** me it would be nice to be on the positive end of a harsh call for once.
