Nice to see our January signing get on the score sheet ;)

Seriously though, we sign a quality CF in January and we're defo title contenders

Just happy that the smell of a rotting carcass has been washed away by fresh air.

The first time in a long time im not scared to death of any team in the league.

Still dont think we have the bodies to sustain a title shot but a well entrenched 2nd-3rd and a cheeky FA cup win I'd take right now.

If we spend in January then we'll see.

Podolski is probably our back up striker, till January at least. Albeit he still a month away from returning I believe. Giroud's form and fitness over the next few months obviously crucial to any talk about titles/trophies.

Rosicky's imminent return is a boost, very versatile footballer. We'll probably start with the same XI from the Swansea game for Napoli this week. Stage is set for Ozil to dominate a European game like this.

Our lack of depth says hi.

Ummm no.

For the most part we have depth but for CF and CB and arguably RB. Our current injuries are masking this. You cannot legislate for injuries.

In a months time we will just about have our full squad to choose from (barring any new injuries). Go through our squad.

GK - Scz, Fabianski, Viviano
LB - Gibbs, Monreal
CB - Kos, Mert, TV
RB - Sagna, Jenks
CM - Flamini, Arteta, Ozil, Ramsey, Wilshere
LW - Santi, Podolski
CF - Giroud, Bendtner
RW - Walcott, Ox

We are stacked in MF and LB, I would have loved to sign another RB and loaned out Jenks but Wenger rates him highly. CF is the big issue, address it in January and we're good to go.

Depth is obviously important but the quality of your First XI is what wins you points on the day, you don't get points for having good depth.

Look at how we're playing currently, we are grinding out results even with so many crucial players out injured, that's the stuff of (potential) champions.

To be honest, I don't give a toss about the cups. In fact, I'd welcome us being knocked out of the CoC and FA Cup, so we can just concentrate on the EPL which is there for the taking this season.

Bendtner is ****ing useless, he cannot be relied upon. You may as well count Park while you're at it, and Diaby. How can you say we are stacked in LB when we have two RB's as well? It's completely contradictory.

And you do get points for having depth, look at Chelsea's squad over the years.

I wasn't specific enough, sorry. I should have been specific about quality as well as numbers. We're stacked at LB because we have two quality players in Gibbs and Monreal as opposed to Sagna (quality) and Jenkinson (development).

Bendtner is there because he is our back up CF, and yes he is useless - which is why I said we need another quality player at CF.

I really wouldn't use Chelsea as a recent example, they've basically been a cup team since 2010, well out of it in the PL.

Bendtner is not useless, he isn't anywhere near as good as what he thinks he is but if were to work hard and not get ahead of himself he is a 10-15 goal scorer in the premier league which would put him in the top 15 or so strikers in the comp. For 6-12 months he will be fine then we can look to improve on Giroud who will make very good back up.

Also Smyth94 we did try and sign Atletico Madrid's right back Juanfran though he didn't want to leave so we didn't activate his release clause.

Sensational win. Shame Higuain didn't play, was looking forward to seeing him. Ozil scored and then a standard assist. Top of the group, can't ask for much more than that at this early point of the group stage.

HOPE the spuds fans got up and watched the MIGHTY ARSENAL win this morning!!!!!!
HELLO TRUE BLUE

The finish from Ozil was from the top shelf. That ball had some heat on it from Ramsey, but no dramas. Glorious finish.

Pick up 4 points from Dortmund and you are through with 2 games to spare. May come in handy depending on injuries.

Yes was just thinking that. Results in both games vs Dortmund, plus a victory at home vs Marseille should be enough to top the group. But a lot can happen in from here on in. 2 tough away games to come in Dortmund & Napoli, although we have a very god away European record in Italy.

Meanwhile, what a goal this was. Just used the pace and guided it in.

Goooooooooooooooooooooons!

Man that finish by Ozil :hearts: and the assist :hearts:

Totally not worth the money though.

Rambo, just...who is this guy, and what has he done with Ramsey? His form right now is world class. Flamini has been a really good signing. Is just the general out there.

Top of the league, top of the group of death, only 1 loss in 23 games. What a great time to be an Arsenal fan. Let us hope it continues! :D

Apart from Walcott's goal against Marseille, when was the last time we scored where one of Ozil, Ramsey or Giroud were not involved?

Bold statement coming up... however Giroud hold up play and passing is better than RvP.

Both goals today, it was two passes before each goal was scored that generated the chance. For Ozil's goal, it was Giroud back-heal to Ramsey and for Giroud's goal, it was his interception from the poor clearance and pass to Ozil, in which he kept on running and scored.

RvP is a finisher and a game saver... best in the world, so not being bitter in saying this, however Giroud suits us more than RvP imo. Giroud's ability to win nearly every single aerial challenge and play the Arsenal way, whilst not losing his cool and actually staying on the field, we are not missing out on too much that RvP would offer.
