Yeah, he's an interesting one.
I just wonder how he'd go in the Arsenal set up though. He seems to be at his absolute best(scoring goals that is) when playing in that "no-man's-land" spot just behind the front man/men and I don't know whether he'll have the luxury to play that roll at The Arsenal.
Our game is based on players having great mobility and technical prowess and Dempsey seems to me to not be the most technically gifted or mobile bloke around. He seems to "ghost" into scoring positions, which is great but when not in the 18 yard box, I don't know whether he is suited to Arsenal's game. It be interesting to see.
rumours (hopefully true) are that dempsey's agent will be holding talks with arsenal this week.

That happens with all bosman signings. The signing fee is spread over the contract.

yes mate but we consistently overpay wages, chamakh was signed for nothing however we've still paid him 3m euros worth to sit on the bench. he scored one goal overall for us last season.
so many other examples of our crazy wage structure. diaby (who is on comparable wages to chamakh i believe) plays one game every 5 months, comes on as a sub in the 2nd half, then gets subbed off injured 20 minutes later. arshavin and almunia are also amongst our top earners and contribute SFA (thankfully now the club has moved on almunia)
we've shot ourselves in the foot with what we pay the likes of chamakh, denilson, bendtner, squillaci, arshavin etc etc. its not insurmountable but perhaps we need to re-check our expectations on what we want as sale fees for these players, and just sell at a reasonable price and get them off our books.

I agree but it happens at every club that signs free players. Flamini was on huge wages at Milan. If they really wanted to get rid off Chamakh they would pay off the fee before selling him.

Some guy on twitter is reporting that we are likely to sign a euro 2012 cup winner, he doesn't know who the player is, but he was the guy who broke the niang trailing at arsenal.

Looking at the squad there's no one who stands out as a possibility. Majority of the players are cemented in their respective first squads. Javi Martinez is the only one in the squad who has been linked to a move away from his club, and that would be amazing if we signed him, but the talk has been of a 40M pound transfer fee, and we all know that won't come from Arsenal.

I'm not really a fan. Hate the stripes, not overly enthused by the colour.
each to their own i guess. i think it looks great. then again i was a big fan of last season's away kit as well (i even bought it), so take my opinion with a grain of salt then
and yes benno the keeper kit is a shocker. its so bright its almost fluorescent...perhaps that's the new tactic, to try and blind the opposition forwards so they can't hit the target.
I don't mind the top but the kit as a whole looks crap especially the socks. And i don't mind the keepers kit though i think its because wojiech is wearing it any other keeper and i wouldnt like it.
