That's good news. Just hope we don't make jack captain, means we'll sell him the year after.

Any chances we'll change formation if we acquire a player like huntelaar? We've already got players who want to play the sole striker like theo, Podolski, giroud etc

Our home form has been very indifferent, and goes without saying we can't afford to give up cheap away goals to them in the first leg. Remains to be seen what we do in January to bolster the squad, but I don't think we'll be strong enough to get past them. Maybe 4-1 or 4-2 in aggregate overall. But still a couple of months away so a lot can change before then.

You're slating me for being realistic?

Bayern have been the most consistent team in Europe over the past few seasons.

Yes, in fact I am. If you're going to spend your time posting such pessimistic comments about Arsenal on a forum, then I don't think you have the right to call yourself a 'supporter'.

Weren't you the "fan" that said we should be patient despite waiting seven years for a trophy?

Shut up. How precious do you want to be? If you want sit there, blindly in support thinking the club is going places, by all means go ahead. But don't throw the toys out of the pram when you read something that hits a nerve because it is realistic.

And who are you exactly to define who can and cannot call themselves a supporter?

Yes. However I meant it in a different way as you perceived it. The club runs as a business, more so than the likes of Chelsea, Manchester City and United. Profit is one of our main priorities.. just as high as on field performance. Don't ask me why, it just is apparently. This is why we don't spend money on players in the extravagant way that those three clubs do. I read in a fourfourtwo article that Wenger believes buying players just because they are stars doesn't mean they'll fit in to the Arsenal mould. Hence his tendency to not buy as many players in a transfer window as some managers do.

This means that the club is never going to have straight up success from spending like the 3 clubs I mentioned do. I'd consider the past 2 seasons (since Cesc, Clichy, Nasri left) as a rebuilding phase. Give it time, the team has been given a facelift. They're obviously not going to taste success immediately.

To be honest, I feel that I'm being more realistic than you are. I understand, unlike you, that the club is building a strong core of young players for the future, resigning them, (Jack, Carl, Aaron, Kieran, Alex) to prevent a huge fallout of uncontracted players leaving the Emirates at the same time. And therefore not having that success. Yes, Cruyff. It may not look like it, but the club is going places. Success? Just not right now. BE PATIENT.

A true supporter would have at least a few positive things to say about the club they love, no matter what position they are in. You have basically nothing good to say about Arsenal, just frequently putting them down.

Feel free to disagree with me fellow Gooners, but that's my assessment on the situation.

The club runs as a business when it shouldn't It is not Arsenal Pty. Ltd. It is Arsenal FC. It is Arsenal Football Club. You're having a laugh if you think profit is as a high priority as on field performance. If that is the case how can you explain half the crap we have put out this season?

Wenger is a stubborn old man whose beliefs and ideals are now stale and show they do not yield the results he wanted.

A rebuilding phase? So what is this season now that we have sold van Persie? Another rebuilding season?

Ramsey is not going to be a player to lead this club to glory, it is evident and I think many will agree with me in saying that.

A true supporter would stop fondling Wenger and blindly defending the clubs faults and point out the errors in the clubs ways, rather than sit there attacking anybody who dares questions the clubs ideals.

No, you're a stubborn old man.

Wenger knows how to run a football club....why would he attract interest from Madrid, Chelsea and various Russian clubs if his beliefs/ideals were stale?

Ramsey is a gun. Why would he captain Wales if this wasn't the case? His decision making has been mediocre in the past, and therefore he is judged harshly by Arsenal fans.

I'm not fondling the bloke. I'm simply saying that you're being way too harsh.

And you aren't questioning our ideals, merely doubting there EVERY move which so far this season has mostly been in the right direction, despite on-field results.

Yes, because you know how old I am.

Running a football club and managing it are two different things. Club hasn't been the same since David Dein left. And when was the last time he was linked with one of those clubs?

lol, alright mate, whatever you say. We have not won a game with Ramsey or Gervinho starting.

LOL so selling van Persie was the right decision? Jesus you're daft. Vermaelen shouldn't have been named captain either, and the way the club has gone about Walcott's contract has been a farce too. The lack of depth the squad has is a joke too. Song not being replaced, lack of depth up front, lack of depth at left back and the problems with our goalkeepers. Do you want me to keep going?
