I don't think too many actually knew he was available until those last few days of the window when the Bale deal was wrapping up, and a lot probably didn't believe it anyway. If you believe Levy Spurs were told he wasn't for sale when they were trying to get a player in return rather than just cash.

By that stage of the window most clubs were finished with their business, the number with that much money still free to spend and a need for him - Chelsea already bought every CAM on the market to add to every CAM in existence they already owned - was small. We played late and got lucky, or we happened to be the beneficiary of Madrid teaching Levy a lesson over what happens when you stall the mighty Galacticos at the transfer table.

Like hell he isn't. Gibbs is good going forward, but i cringe often when he's back defending. He's really just another in a long line of Arsenal left wingbacks. Monreal isn't as good going forward, but is a much more resolute defender.

I wanted more premier league dreamteam points and was pleading for Ramsey to just fire the corner into the Box/Giroud at the end of the game. Instead we twice took short corners despite having a 2 goal buffer and 20 seconds left of injury time.

Ozil as captain helped though!

Wenger's update is that Giroud and Wilshere will be rested from the league game this week which is very welcome for them. Theo actually doesn't have an 'illness', it's a abdominal/muscle issue. Not sure upon his return date.

Guys like Ramsey, Sagna, Koscielny etc could also do with a break but we don't really have that many squad options to step in at this point in time.

Bendtner likely to start, first game in over 2 years for the club. Am expecting a 7 goal performance from him.

In the first half alone.
