I thought Podolski was returning closer to December from memory? Haven't heard much recently but remember reading it was most likely 3 months out in Sep.

Yes correct, it was a 10-12 week injury initially however the reports a few weeks back were suggesting he's way ahead of schedule. Was probably false reporting anyway.

As good as we're going right now, we're just one injury away to Giroud from really having our depth exposed. Both Walcott and and Podolski offer some coverage up front at least.

We don't even need him atm anyway.

Walcott? Against the very best teams you can bet your bottom dollar we'll need him.

Just imagine Oezil/Ramsay/Cazorla picking him out time after time - actually don't imagine, think back to the Sunderland game where he should have had a first half hat trick. Even when Theo isn't being productive, his pace and movement makes it hell for the opposition. Do they press or do they sit back to avoid getting murdered by Theo's pace? You think we're going to play a CM on the right for the whole season? The best teams will exploit this.

I want Theo back in the first XI ASAP.

Hah! What were the other "criticisms"? Disappears after 70mins, doesn't score goals...

The goal scoring will always come naturally due to the way we play, which suits Mesut perfectly. People point out his RM goal scoring record which was poor but the fact that the whole team was built around CR7 didn't help.

Watched the replay last night; amazing performance by us, beautiful goals etc etc. Ramsey's confidence and lift in output has been amazing to watch this season - he's becoming the player we thought he'd be when we signed him so long ago. Similarly two goals in two matches for Wilshere, which is really promising, could be heading for a Ramsey run of goals. Our midfield is so much more scary when we've got so many genuine goal scorers - Mesut, Santi, Rambo, Arteta all can have a pop and force a good save or corner. If Jack can join into this, the weekend's performances will become more frequent.

Flamini's a big out for the Dortmund game, he's exactly what we need against Reus, Lewandowski, Aubameyang, and Mkhitaryan. I imagine it'll be Ramsey and Arteta as the two holding mids, which should be interesting. I do think we'll win, but it'll be a great game.

Still reckon we need to sign a defensive mid, Flamini has shown us how crucial they are to a side and how badly we've missed one for so long. And as much as I love Flamini, he is a short-term measure, i.e. he's on the wrong side of 30 and will only slow down in coming years. I'm praying we pick up Khedira, that'd be amazing, plus he's German, he'd fit nicely and has been vocal about Mesut's depature from RM. One can dream!
