BTW, it will be very interesting to see the reception Rambo gets at Cardiff.

I know they still love him but when he played there in a dour 0-0 in the FA Cup a few seasons back, he kept getting booed (stupid) and it affected him so much that he had an absolute stinker and needed to be taken off.
Ramsey is a changed player now though.

Nowhere near how he used to be.

I hope he scores a hat-trick and celebrates every goal.

Yep that flick from Ramsey was brilliant. Very audacious, that's a bloke playing with confidence.

Scznczny it must be said has been very very good this season. He's shown good patches before but the fear is his next brain fade is just around the corner. Really hope that's behind him now. Much of the focus this season has been on the improvement of Ramsey and Giroud etc, but Scz also deserves some credit for his improvement thus far.
Szczesny has improved with every outing this year to the point of him being one of the major reasons we have looked so comfortable and commanding. Defences having faith in their 'keeper is a basic, fundamental principle of successful football and that of itself, has significant implications for the rest of the team. If anyone needed convincing, have a look at that fat clown playing for Southamton.

We should all send him a thank you card because from what was to be a very difficult fixture against a really, really good side, turned into a gift for us and that is not taking anything away from how our professional our lads were starting with the previously mentioned Szczesny. I still want to shut my eyes at corners and from free kicks taken from wide out but the rest of his play, including his calmness, has improved exponentially.

Top, top win that one and a I am still iffy about a contract extension Glen! One year at a time maybe to keep him on his toes, hey?

The defence has been exceptional last 5 or so games only conceded the 1 goal I think.
Its been years since we can say that! Steve Bould factor?

If he keeps doing what he's doing, no one could begrudge him another extension.

There are still some heart in mouth moments with Scznzny but for the most part he doesn't appear prone to that needless wild dash out of his box. The save he made this morning in the second half diving to his left amongst his finest.

Meanwhile, Bendtner has clarified his arrest the other night. Said he was trying to get into the pool room at his apartment to go for a swim with some friends, and the door didn't work.

Something more negative - Flamini cutting his sleeves for the second time really annoys me.

He was warned by the kit manager to not do it again when he cut them before (I think) United, then directly disobeyed orders again last night.

As good as he's been, he's not bigger than the club and I hope Wenger, TV5 etc. bring him back down to earth and let him know that he must respect traditions and wear the same length sleeve as every other player on the team.

We said this last year at some stage then let in a litany of goals in the month following ...

It's been a whole team thing this year. Last year the back four were doing well but were still caught out when the midfield were not dropping back to help out.

This year how many times has Giroud, Ramsey or Wilshire made tackles, headers and interceptions in defence? Ramsey even cleared off the line last night. Add in Flamini doing a great job of sitting infront of the defence and we start looking very solid at the back.

If he is so adament against wearing long sleeves then he should be able to wear short sleeves.

Interesting to note that Wenger has started to rotate the squad with Gibbs, Santi and Arteta rested last night.

Wouldn't be surprised to see Ozil and Koscielny rested this weekend.

And then Per, Ramsey and Sagna against Hull in midweek.

That's pretty much every player having a rest bar Giroud. Maybe Wenger may take a punt and play Theo down the middle against Hull. Please not Bendtner ...

It is tradition at Arsenal that whatever the captain wears, the other players do.

I know it's a tradition, but at what point do you decide its best if one player doesnt have to follow it?

Is it really worth it if Flamini doesnt want to wear long sleeves and he's willing to cut up his top in order not to do it?

At the risk of jinxing us, for the first time this season we actually seem to have a full squad to choose from (barring Podolski and Ox who isn't in first XI contention anyway).

Midfield is where we have most depth and competition for spots. Theo should start tonight and I believe he is in our best starting lineup, even squeezing out Rosicky which is hard to admit. But in all seriousness, Flamini and Ramsey I think are the most effective combination at CM, ahead of Arteta and Wilshere.

I'd think we'd look:

Ramsey Flamini
Theo Ozil Cazorla
Giroud

With Rosicky, Arteta, Wilshere as coverage. This assuming of course that everyone is fit at the same time, which very rarely happens at Arsenal. But would be a great dilemma to have for us.

A draw here wouldnt be too bad. Would love all the points though.

How ****ing good is the Welsh anthem? Love it every time.
