The major problem is a talent issue.

Yep. We don't have a 'top 5 in the league' player at CF, RM and in one of both the CM or CB positions. CF and RM in particular have completely broken down in 2016. Giroud has given us **** all lately.

It could be argued Koscielny is in the top 5, if not top 3, in his position. Perhaps not over the last few months though.

I know he came on late, but can someone tell me if Walcott touched the ball? I don't remember having seen him done so. He chased hard once, that I can remember, but that's it.

I recall him touching it once. I'd be shocked if he did more than 5 times.

I remember saying by March 19 our season would be over bar maybe the FA cup and ridiculed by some... **** off Arsene Ive been saying it for 5 years.

Following Arsenal is just like watching the same movie over and over again, we have pretty much been the laughing stock of European football for a decade. But yeah be careful what you wish for with life under Wenger lol.

The fan reactions on social media are the most negative I've ever seen. Wenger usually always had a fair bit of support from a section of fiercely loyal fans, but it seems even the most pro-Wenger supporters are finally recognizing that he needs to be moved on.

Anyway, a few useful stats/facts:

- Giroud hasn't scored since January (0 in 10)
- Ramsey, Walcott and Oxlade-Chamberlain have a combined 9 goals and 5 assists in 68 league matches (collectively contributing 1 goal every 5 matches in the premier league)
- In 2016, we've averaged 0.8 goals per game at home in the league (4 goals in 5 games, 2 against 10-man Leicester)
- In 2016, we've averaged 1.23 goals a game
- In 2016, we've averaged 1.33 points per league game (on track for Wenger's worst ever ppg post-Christmas, I believe)
- Arsene Wenger, in response to questions regarding his lack of transfer activity in August 2015, responded "have we got enough talent? I think yes and the consistency is there because these players have played a few years together now." He also added, on the possibility of signing new players: "We have to be convinced that it strengthens the team"

The most spectacular crumbling of a season since our last bottle job.

Edit: in addition to Shoei 's damning stats

Double edit: it'll be sad when Campbell leaves in Summer for greater opportunity when he's the only decent right winger in the squad.

That's crazy reading the comparisons between Walcott and Campbell, I somewhat get why Wenger has opted with Walcott he's more experienced and should be playing at a good consistent level now, thing is he doesn't and is pretty much a non-factor when he's out on the pitch, he's basically invisible and when he does touch the ball he ****s it up pretty often. Campbell shits all over Walcott in terms of effort and effectiveness on the pitch, everyone can see this, the fans have been on about this for a long time now, yet Wenger has been too stubborn to try and change his plans and give Campbell a proper go and it has cost the team points, probably costs the team the title.

Aaron Ramsey has been absolutely atrocious this season as well and especially during this period when we have needed him to step up the most, Cazorla has turned out to be a massive loss for us, he keeps the team ticking over, fast accurate passing always moving the ball on, making the whole team move and play, always thinking a step ahead of where he's going to move it to before he even receives the ball, Ramsey is stagnant on the ball he doesn't have a good football I.Q, he doesn't think ahead, he causes the team to stagnate and pretty often ****s up the play somehow anyway, he's been so very, very poor and makes us play worse.

Oxlade-Chamberlain has been absolute gash as well a real horror show from the 3 of them.

Would be happy to move all 3 on in the window.

It was mentioned in commentary that we have the same points tally as at the same time last season. Testament to the absolute lack of progress we have made this season. It is kind of remarkable that the team shows more fight when chasing a top 4 position than when chasing the league, just goes to show where the ambition level is at the club.

No ****ing way we're getting to 75 pts this season.

Arseblog:

Moving it down the left hand side it came to Ayew, Gabriel’s foul on him was Sunday League stuff, and from the resulting free kick whipped in by Sigurdsson, Williams bundled the ball home for the winner. And you know what? Watching it happen I knew it was the winner. I think we all knew it was the winner. And the worst part? The players knew it was the winner too.

And yes, I know we can do better in terms of certain players in certain positions, but this is the same group plus a better goalkeeper that played so well in the second half of last season. They’re capable of better, and it got me thinking: when was the last time we actually played well?

I don’t mean functionally, like a 2-0 win over Bournemouth or Aston Villa, or an FA Cup win over a second string side. But actually performed well over 90 minutes. There was the fantastic Champions League win over Olmypiacos in December, and before that maybe you’re looking at Swansea in October (three second half goals), or United back in September.

That’s three games from our last 29. We don’t have any form to speak of. There’s clearly no confidence or belief. There’s no rhythm. Tactically we seem all over the place. Basically speaking, there’s a group of players, but not much of a team. And you can call for this player to go and that player to go all you like, but it’s on the manager.

The foul itself was needless and clumsy, but even in the lead up, we had two or three opportunities to put a tackle in and stop Swansea before they advanced that far.

It's not bad luck. It's bad defending. Wenger does not know the difference.

Likewise with Giroud hitting the bar. Not hitting the net from 10 yards is down to a lack of quality - nothing to do with luck.

So is it still the biggest NLD ever? I think we're done.

I'd like to think that a win would give us a massive boost, but we are not good enough. Simple.

I just want the win to deny Spurs the 3 pts. How sad is that ...

United and West Ham could catch us yet.
