Losing 4-0 to Southampton, losing to United's 3rds, losing to Swansea's 2nds ...

Let's face it ... if we win the title, we'd forever be known as the worst PL champions ever. Same with City/United/etc.

At least with Leicester, there's a good news story.

I refuse to acknowledge the other possibility.

So is it still the biggest NLD ever? I think we're done.

For Spurs it is, no doubt about it. Hopefully we can spoil the party a little - not for our own gain (we aren't winning shit) but to help Leicester.

United and West Ham could catch us yet.

Hopefully they do.

Something to stun that flog Kroenke/anyone with authority, and hopefully drive some sort of change..

The problem is all stan the campaigner will do is flog off Ozil to make up for the loss of CL revenue.

What that fella's saying is exactly right.

Leaving Highbury was good. What wasn't good was that many, many fans who used to pack our old stadium were priced out of this new super-dooper one and were replaced by those who have no problems coming up with the readies.

Now there's nothing wrong with people wanting to pay doe to watch the Arsenal, but what about the fans who went to Highbury week in and week out? They can't afford to go and see the Gunners anymore and what we now have, are shit loads of the pretty people and not enough of the bloke that's in that video.

The cash registers have been ringing and it's wonderful music to the ears of the capitalists but the club has lost it's hunger to win at all costs, at least not to lose, so long as we do just enough to play in the Platini Cup and the doe keeps coming in.

To watch Sanchez come back from his injury and to see him no where near fit enough to play top football was disappointing to say the least. We could see from half way around the world that he was not right and yet the manager who sees him every day, just allowed the medicos to keep giving him jabs in the groin and the buttock to get him on the pitch! Bellerin is not right, Koscielny hasn't been right for a couple of seasons, Rosicky hasn't played a handful of games in years, Oxlade-Chaimberlain is in then out then in .... and so on and so on.

You look at Arsenal players that come back from injury and they, near enough to a rule, never look right (ready). That's a management issue and that is fairly and squarely at the feet of Wenger but we haven't the "luxury" of a packed Highbury with "all sorts" going off their nut, week in and week out in response to the laissez-faire football we've been playing under Wenger nor his laissez-faire attitude.

Nah, those days are gone! What we've got now are spectators preening themselves, taking selfies, f*****g around on social media while there's a game in process but that's OK, so long as they're at the trendy ground with all the trendy people and they can boo Fabregas.

The rest of us, those who are teachers, waiters and waitresses, shop assistants, bar staff, gardeners, cleaners, lorry drivers etc. ie non-"professionals", how are they going to afford to go to the football to watch their side?

As the fella on the clip said, they're making heaps of doe, spend some!! Spend to get proper depth, proper health and fitness staff and a modern manager who is across the myriad of different styles and tactics being employed in todays football. They don't have to be young fellas, just blokes who have moved with the times and are constantly evolving.

We can still win the league, but I doubt it.

Ospiña
Bellerin Mertesacker Chambers Monreal
Coquelin Elneny
Ramsey Özil Campbell
Welbeck

Either way we're gonna get spanked. But at least put the blokes on the pitch who'll give it everything.

Ramsey out wide will allow him to attack like a maniac and surrender all defensive responsibilities as he usually does anyway.

Would drop Ramsey ahead of Sanchez. At least Alexis provides defensive cover, and has more urgency. Will never happen though, Wenger has his favorites.

Elneny was the only result from a supposedly "busy" January, but at this point am wondering what was the point of him. Flamini is much more likely to play this weekend than he is.

I'm predicting Wenger will go with:

Ospina
Bellerin Mertesacker Gabriel Nacho
Ramsey Coq
Walcott Ozil Sanchez
Giroud

If I see Walcott in the starting lineup I potentially may give the game a miss, the bloke is a ****ing joke.

Seems the general consensus is that we'll play well (at least show decent improvement and commitment) this weekend before reverting back to shitness.

This is wishful thinking - our run of form since November (not results, actual playing form) is diabolical. It's almost impossible to see us play well, let alone play well enough to beat a well-drilled and energetic Spurs at home.

They will destroy us (3-0 or along those lines) and next week will be the most damaging and tumultuous week of Wenger's recent tenure - maybe even the most damaging week of his tenure full stop.

Sorry for the pessimism, but we all know what's coming. This team isn't capable of giving us a pleasant surprise. Best we're prepared for another disappointment.

What I think needs to happen is Wenger needs to come out and say "You know what, i've ****ed up. For too long I've put my faith in players that may have the technical ability but don't have the mental ability to play at the standard I've set at Arsenal. There are a number of players in this team that have 10 games left to show that they have a right to be here and those that don't or can't won't be remaining at the club".

You can say what you want about tactics and substitution on Wenger's behalf but at the end of the day there are 11 so called professional footballers on the field, playing for one of the biggest clubs in the World in one of the highest standard leagues. Their inability to pass the ball, make a tackle, track a run, defend a set piece, stay onside, finish at goal.......this is shit that they shouldn't need to be taught weekly, only maintained.

They've continually let the fans and him down with their performances because they are lazy, careless professionals coasting through their careers. Some might not be good enough, but there have been plenty of average footballers that did well purely because they tried their ****ing guts out every game - Ray Parlour comes to mind and it's why i can't hate Campbell or Sanchez because even if they aren't the best (Campbell) or down on form (Sanchez) they just keep going and trying.

My biggest problem is Wenger keeps protecting these players. **** them, put the pressure back onto them, call them out, and if they can't take it move them on.

Good post. If Wenger actually came out and publically put the players on notice then, regardless of how many matches we lose until the end of the season, we'll be somewhat content that the club has taken a stance and pledged to change itself. That's all we're really asking.

In regards to the possibility of it happening, there's obviously no chance it will. And almost no chance he even lambasts them privately. He's evidently more of a dick kisser and ass sucker to the likes of Ramsey and Walcott, and the worst he'd do to punish diabolical performances is deny the player a start the following game - though Ramsey remains undroppable for some ****** up reason.

But the scenes we saw at the Emirates yesterday should give us some closure that should the club continue to serve up tripe in home games, they'll get that sort of disgusted fan reaction and fully know where they stand in the eyes of the supporters. Even on social media - the pathetic little picture uploads from the players are being inundated with relentless posts from fed up supporters criticizing the nerve of the club and players. I personally find it fantastic to see. The players need to cop it as hard as the fans see fit.

The away fans could just storm the pitch and force the ref to award a 3-0 home win. Save us a proper thrashing.

Arseblog:

There’s an old cliche about how good players put bums on seats. And maybe that’s the message that those on high will start to take notice of. It’s often been said that the only way they’ll pay any attention is if attendances are affected. Well, they are. Maybe they won’t care because the tickets are sold, but your ‘blue chip’ sponsors and your commercial partners around the world won’t be that keen because empty seats in stadiums look bad. They look grotty. They give off a whiff of failure and misery.

And this isn’t on fans. You can’t blame the home support for the problems this team are experiencing. This is a consequence of the club’s actions and the manager’s actions when it comes to building his team. If there’s a lack of belief in them, that’s only been hammered home by the dropped points and the paucity of the performances. There’s a very obvious lesson to be learned, but it remains to be seen if they’ll pay as much attention as they should.
