It’ll be fun when the socials take a swing to the right...inevitable considering they really only care about making money. Everyone currently cheering on the de platforming because they’re a private company will be singing a different tune when they start de platforming the people on their side of the spectrum.

I used to lean to the left in my early years when they stood for the honest hard working blue collar worker.

Now all I hear is gender neutral toilets, men can identify as a woman, straws will destroy the world etc etc.

I have no issues with above policies of the left but when you spew the same rhetoric every day it wears a bit thin especially when they rarely deliver on a promise.

At least with the conservatives you know where you stand.

3 days in and he's signed an executive order protecting labour rights, strengthening unemployment benefits, checks and food aid to low income workers and providing a liveable minimum wage for federal gov contractors and workers.

Ok so you do realise the dems have spent the last 6 months blocking trillions of dollars in aid to those affected by Covid.

And protecting existing laws just means same old situation.

I’d like to hear that he will introduce Medicare for all, free college to the underprivileged, cheap medicines, gun control. Less wars. These are the things that America needs.

If the dems couldn’t achieve any of this in 8 years under Obama what makes you think they will achieve under Biden.

By blocking, you mean demanding more than a one off $600 cheque and demanding that unemployment benefits be extended.

The only people 'blocking' anything were the GOP refusing to give people any more than a pittance. I'm not going to sit there and throw shade at people who made some pretty damn reasonable and humane demands and recognised that it was a situation that could bring actual benefit to people. How on earth people span that into 'the Dems are at fault' (even Bernie) when, having read their proposed relief plan I saw nothing I would object to and some really good initiatives, when it was the other party refusing to freakin' give unemployment benefits to people during a massive job losing pandemic, is beyond me.

But we've discussed that way up the thread. I'm not going to repeat ad nauseum.

I would love all of those things too. What the myopic people like yourself clinging to their political team sport seem to fail to acknowledge is that just because you give credit where it's due...doesn't necessarily mean that person or political actor is perfect or beyond criticism.

There are two painfully obvious reasons why the Democrats have not been able to enact these progressive (or "left-wing" if you insist) policies. Under Obama, they had the excuse of being blocked by Mitch McConnell in the Senate. Now that Biden and the Democrats control both houses, the reason they won't achieve this agenda is that they are not really a progressive or left-wing party. It's hilarious that Americans think the Democratic Party are socialists.

when you have NG openly angry at being shifted off to a carpark because their job protecting the Capitol has finish. police on long shifts are same boat, they have been given hospitality by the old admin.

There’s also reports that more NG troops are being requested to be sent to the Capitol because of the above issue, at the moment, the Biden admin doesn’t trust the rank and file of the police or the NG..
it’s a nightmare scenario esp if doj pushes ahead with criminal charges, I could envision a time in future, when the above groups might have to make a choice.. sometimes in politics it’s better to let sleepy dogs lie..
