Neale Daniher has sadly passed away today after a brave and public fight against MND.

Its a sad day for football, he was a lovable down to earth country boy who brought nothing but joy and pride to our great game.

Damn …. This cut deep. Even though we all knew this day would come, it doesn’t make it any easier. Loved by all… it feels like we’ve lost a family member.

We have world class medical researchers and doctors in this country, so please remember to support them whenever you can. Fight MND and the Royal Children's Hospital Good Friday Appeal, as a couple of examples, are fund-raising all year, not just king's birthday and Good Friday. Every time you can, throw a couple of bucks their way (if you use the self-serve at Coles or Woolworths, there's a button for Donations; just adding a couple of dollars to your shop goes a long way to supporting these charities). Who knows how many lives may be saved if everyone commits to this.

When Neale entered a room, everyone shut up and listened to him, because each person present had such enormous respect for the man.

Hopefully some time soon, we can finish the work the great man started, and find a cure for "the beast", as he called it.
