After Buzz, this is a blow. The guy was a legend in so many ways.

3 times premiership player, one premiership as a coach at the Blues.
2 times Championship of Australia winner
2 times leading goal scorer for Carlton.
AFL Hall of Fame
Carlton Hall of Fame (Legend)
Carlton team of the century.

Didn't hold a rubber for a St Kilda player.

A man who lived life on his own terms and went out on his own terms.

Vale Rob Walls. May your family and friends know peace now you are no longer suffering.

I express profound gratitude for the existence of assisted dying legislation. Far too many have suffered prolonged torment and powerlessness without recourse. Such experiences are deeply distressing for those enduring them and heart-wrenching for the loved ones who stand by them.

Robert's choice to conclude his life reflects the same bravery that defined his distinguished career on the field and his remarkable pursuits thereafter.

Forever honored and remembered.

So many reasons as to why Wallsy was a legend of our club. Here's a few;

Probably the greatest game from a centre half forward in a grand final. 1972 with six goals from 24 touches and 9 marks.

Absolutely hated Kevin Sheedy throughout his whole career with a passion.

Bled blue throughout his whole career but wouldn't take any rubbish from people who shouldn't have been in a position to make judgements about him (e.g. Ian Stewart).

I remember him starting as a skinny back pocket player. Well played Wallsy. Rest in peace .

Good bloke.. had some old photos of rob in his playing days. Sent an email to 3aw to try and get them signed.. he rang me (missed the call :( ) but left voice message with his address to send the stuff to.

Signed everything and wrote me a personal note thanking for the extra photos I sent for him to keep.

He always had an opinion on the game and DGAF if it wasn’t popular

Wow this has hit me pretty hard.

Some of my earliest memories of footy are shaped by his analysis on Channel 10.

I used to love how he'd always want to give a player a run in the ruck to get them involved.

He also deserves a massive amount of credit for how well the game is going in Queensland. Wallsy did a ton of hard yards up there to put the game on the map and look at how it is thriving now.

Vale to a true legend of our club and the game more broadly.
