Anyone wondering how good he was, watch the 1972 GF.I never was around and saw his playing career.
RIP Wallsy. Fondly remembered as a school teacher by his pupils too.

I'm not sure about this but is Doull the only AFL player to have played with a future coach in multiple Grand Finals as well as being coached by the same team mate?
Aside from Jezza who is officially the last playing coach (I think?)

Percy Jones???Iād say Doull played with three before they became his coache - John Nicholls, Alex Jesaulenko and Robert Walls.

Percy Jones???
Fantastic storytelling by Robert Walls, with Rex Hunt in 2015
Often contesting a mark at centre half foward he would punch the ball back over his head
He knew our smalls would be waiting.
If anyone gets a chance, read the tribute by Mike Sheahan.
Absolutely brilliant, so well written and sums up Robert perfectly.

Came across this just now. How good. Shows you the person he was, was afraid to hit you between the eyes no matter who you were:
Wallsy tears apart sheedy
this is the full interview, pretty interesting....This is gold.
No love there at all!!
Such a Carlton person through and through...
It's even funnier when you remember that Wallsy was an Essendon supporter growing up. I think that he just hated Sheeds. This is gold.
