Varcoe or Stokes?

Very very interesting.

Stokes probably had the worst game of his life and not the best time to do it.

Varcoe there is alot of upside on this guy.

Stokes is still a great little player but when you play an absolute shocker on the Big day questions have to be asked.

Varcoe was chasing arse all day today, never seemed to be able to run someone down, missed a couple of crucial tackle attempts as well, and isn't one of those creative forwards who is always there when you need him.

Stokes has shown good form in the past, so I'd take him.

Varcoe will comfortably be the better player.

Should be getting midfield minutes, he would at other clubs. He did his job this year, averaged close to 5 tackles a game.

I didn't think Stokes is that good of a player based on before today. Some players are hard to judge because they are in such a good side. Varcoe is too up and down and sometimes struggles in the VFL.

For who's better, right now, I'd probably go Stokes.

Probably cause Geelong needed to go top heavy in their forward line. Prob though the more talent in their forward line the less affect Hodge would have on the game.

Hmmm, let me see, maybe because he was injured, therefore a liability, it is the Grand Final, and win it or that's it game, you shouldn't be going in with players who can't run out games, not to mention sticking him on Hodge who can run all day and hurts like hell when he gets it.

Varcoe's no good, he's only kicked 5 goals this year. Compare that to any other small forward and he's no good.

I don't rate Stokes at all. I've never seen a forward get such a high proportion of goals from a handball or kick over the top after running forward of the play. He feasts on the work of the great team around him, but I never see him actually win the ball when he has an opponent. I actually laughed out loud when I saw him run to Hodge on Saturday, one of the worst contested players in the competition against one of the best.
