There is a footpath, and then there is a second path right next to the road labelled Bicycles only.
I've ridden on it plenty of times, its smooth as. All curved guttering, so you can get on and off it at will.
If you hit the pedestrian button at the intersection where we both turned right, you get to cross the main road before the turning light that he was catching.

He was just being a "i'm wearing lycra and i have the right to block a lane of traffic " kind of ****wit.

I've scared a pedestrian on a shared path before, so i ring my bell now , which means they look around and jump off the path, which they don't need to do either. Anyway, i'd rather be a pedestrian hit by a bike, than a bike rider hit by even the smallest car, and most bike riders are paying attention, while it often seems like plenty of car drivers are paying attention....to their phone.
Ah ok. Good points.

You are a rider too. Do you feel you should pay rego?

no , i probably wouldn't ride at all if i had to, so if i extrapolate, its not great for national fitness /health.
I ride an E-Bike because my trip to work is 20km , and i'm not "that" fit.
I feel strongly about illegal E-Bikes and Scooters, which i believe are motorcycles under the law.
I can't believe there are people who believe that there are people who think they should be able to ride motorcycles that don't comply with any Australian standards ( things like brakes ) just because they are electric.

People pushing in today .
The left lane been closed for awhile now in a section of the Torquay highway.
Cars going from the right lane into the left pass a few cars and push back in ...GAGF .

Often when i'm going home from work Dandenong road is banked up.
Campaigners turn into a service land, drive about half a km, then try to get back onto dandenong road. Always some dumb bastard will stop and let 1,2,3, in front of him.

It would be fine if people adhered to the standards. Electric bikes and scooters are supposed to be capped at 25kmh (and have brakes, obviously). I can ride my bicycle faster than 25kmh. Unfortunately, they appear to have underestimated how easy it is to get around that cap. I've been riding at 25-30kmh on a nice flat and had a scooter roar past me, which means they had to have been doing at least 45-50kmh.

The bikes have pedal assist, and are set up so the assistance gradually cuts out between 20 and 25km/h.
Of course you can still get a bit faster down hills and if you push it on the flat.
Yep if that scooter is going 50 its a motorbike , should comply with motorcycle standards, should need rego and a license.

Both bikes and scooters are allowed to have 250W. Even the ones they sell in JB Hifi have a little disclaimer saying that its up to the buyer to check if they are legal. ( they are good segway ones, but some are not legal ).

We’ve discussed the disgusting price gouging of petrol stations before and the huge gulf in prices in places 2km apart.

Tonight is that, $2.00+ everywhere close by, 5km away average price of $1.59…

I’ve never used 7/11s fuel lock before, but one of the 1.59 was a 7/11 so I locked it in and went to the local instead. Didn’t realise they capped it at 25c a litre off, so instead of saving $20, I saved $10 and the app had the nerve to give me a message saying how chuffed I must be saving $10…

Get ****ed!!!

The thing about e-bikes and scooters is there doesn’t seem to be any minimum age limit. Literally anyone can purchase and ride one, on the road.

In victoria.

I think E-bikes have the same laws and status as regular bikes. ( 12yo and under are allowed to ride on the footpath and so is a supervising adult ). For me the difference between an E-Bike and a normal bike, is that i'm able to sustain 20km/h over a long distance, and up slight inclines, where otherwise i'd only go that fast sometimes.
I still go in bursts at a higher speed, like if i'm trying to catch a green light, or obviously down hills.

16yo. Not all roads.
Not on footpaths.

Driving over 0.05 on a scooter may result in loss of a Vehicle drivers license you possess.

I mean they shouldn't be able to sell it if its not legal, it shouldn't be up to the purchaser to work it out

Drive home from the pub. It's like a one minute and a half drive.

Have to blast 2 stupid dickheads in that short trip

People are assholes
Assholes.
And drivers are more lazy these days.

Yeah imagine being able to go to a Toyota dealer and having to read the fine print to see if you could drive it on the road.

It was almost laughable

Like 3 blocks 😂

Next door building a office in their front yard.
The arsehat trade he was using parked so close to My driveway I could just get out..

Always close to home there will a arse hate.

organised chaos here in souf east asia. Cars everywhere, no road rage.

Its a different way of driving.
In Malaysia I had two motor scooters hit in front of me, one had been on my right and weaved left, the other on my left weaving right.
Never make eye contact, if you make eye contact , they know you've seen them and will take right of way.

Pretty sure i saw 3 fatalities in my week driving there.
