Might be mistaken, but wasn't it posted on the Freo social sites during pre season, where Freddy chased down and tackled Walker?

Haven't seen Freddy come close to breaking out a sweat to chase down defensively so far this year lol

Collingwood rested players knowing how tough their run home will be.

They have a tough run home of 2 games outside of Melbourne until finals. Poor club.

They rested players because their team is full of old geriatric ****s who they need to manage through the season.

That result bugs me because we started well and showed we could keep up with a good side, albeit with 4 best 22 players out. We then took easy options.

The belief is there for the pies, to go with the ability. We don't have it.

It bugs me more to watch GC hold off a fast finishing Footscray and know that they are now past us (granted it has taken too long) with will and endeavour getting them over the line.

The big spoil at the end in that game was from Jed Walter, an 18 yo kid, having a real go.

They have had a massive number of concessions compared to us and then also I'm sure the AFL had a hand in them getting Dimma who walked away from the Tigers because it was too hard.

I've supported this club since day 1 as a foundation member. I have seen Freo play terrible footy for most of it and I can tell you it's looking bleak.

Coaching sux and the players look flat.

All the promises in the world but reality shows we are miles away from ever winning a flag. I've come to the realization that I won't be alive when Freo win a flag.

My daughter prefers nrl and to be honest it's a far even playing field. Minimal rule changes. More even draw and less blatant incompetence and bias from the umps. The game of AFL is geared for the big clubs from over east. Collingwood only leave Melbourne twice from here on in. Come finals they play at home.

Freo no ducking chance

Why bother

AFL is seriously a waste of time I ****ing hate it

I’d really like some honesty from the club. No more of this rubbish about the coach doing a phenomenal job, and a plan to be in finals and grand finals etc. Just some reality, ie where they’ve stuffed up, what they need to improve to be successful, what changes to the list are required etc.

I have posted this before and will post it again.

I got mocked for saying this in other threads.

It's not the lack of a premiership or even a grand final that hurts.

Its the lack of finals, sustained finals that hurts. The lack of eras of making finals for 2 years in a row.

We made finals only 8 times in 31 seasons. 2003, 2006, 2010, 2012-5 and 2022.

Besides a flag there's one or 2 minor results I would change or even flat out trade.

I wished we beat Essendon at Docklands in 2021. That means we take Essendons 8th spot in 2021.

That means back to back finals in 2021-22.

I wished we beat Port Adelaide 2005, specifically round 22. That means we take their 7th spot on the ladder. That means a finals run of 2005-6.

I would even consider trading our 2010 Elim final win vs the hawks in exchange for beating Port in round 22 of 2005. Again that means back to back finals in 2005-6.

I said it before and will say it again....

I mean look at other non Victorian clubs from 1995-2010, each of those 5 clubs, Adelaide, Brisbane, Port, Sydney, West coast.

All 5 clubs made finals 50 percent of the time minimum. 7 years out of 14 for Port, 8 years out of 16 for the other 4. All 5 clubs made 2 grand finals and won 1 flag each minimum.

I celebrated that 2022 Elim final vs the dogs almost like it was a flag. That's how much it meant to me after years of tough times.

The next time this club ever gets back to back finals, even if it's 8th for 2 years in a row, celebrate long and hard like it's a flag.

It's hard to find any joy as a dockers fan because we have seen and been deprived of any joy or success.

It all starts at the top. Lions were a rabble, removed 2 coaches that were favourite sons.
Changed policy on Vic Metro picks, or ensuring team mates were drafted together.
In the last few years C Scott, Bevo, have been available, behind the scenes we are asleep at the wheel.
But it’s not the club, player X will lead us to finals, etc, how many of these so called stars has ever worked out?
Yeah sure go hard at free agency, astute trades, the go home factor policy is an absolute failure.
Do your 2 years at Freo, then back to the state of football with bonus pay.

This last 2 weeks might just be up there with the worst 2 weeks in the history of the Fremantle football club.

That’s not an exaggeration.

Extend that out. The last 13 games played would be close to the worse run I can imagine.
Bombers - up by 4 goals. Lose and injuries. Start of rot.
Next 3 to close the season and miss finals. In every game.

Round 1 - smashwd
Wins against Eagles, Tigers, an injury ravaged Dogs (great win, but let’s not kid ourselves here with that result) and Adelaide (best win by a mile)
Other losses - Swans (choked and they had mass injuries coming off 2 losses), Melbourne (mass injuries, coming off 5 losses)
Saints (coming off a few losses were belted. No midfield yet we got smashed in midfield)
Pies (at home no team has won off 5 day break. They rested 4 blokes. We smashed them in every statistical category except goals)

That’s a horror run.

Throw in an injury to arguably our most important mid!

Man, this 13 weeks has been hell.

Now, to top it off, Jackson is reported as wanting to leave!

LOL.

Lions have only been in the comp slightly longer than us (in the big scheme of the things). They have won multiple flags under different coaches.
Our administration and trade/list management has been our biggest weakness. Unfortunately we need to rebuild that first and then look at coaches and players once that is fixed.

Oh mate.. My daily political doomscrolling routine has (in the past month) crept into the one place I find refuge.

I've been a supporter since 1995 and can't recall a time the club and fans have been in such disarray. I've NEVER seen such frustration turning into pure hostility (much of it warranted). After 30 years, there has been an outright reversal in our long-standing patience and hopefulness.

My gut tells me we are being gaslit in every facet of press/media releases. Whether its Merriman's injury updates - 'such and such player is tracking nicely'. Or simply minimising any inquiry to club issues. Its such a poor facade now that its just insulting to us as members/supporters.

Seeing the latest JL media conference was very cringey. Part of me likes that he is doubling down. I don't want a a coach to capitulate at a time in which the pressure from all angles is at an all time high. He should go down with the ship so that he and us as members/supporters don't die not knowing.

I just wanted to include this media conference. I'm no body language expert but from 7:07 this video becomes super uncomfortable (more so than the standard JL interview), more so than any I can recall. You can see the reporters slowly starting to circle the wagon and at this something happens with JL.

Never? Jeez then you really haven't been paying too much attention over the years. There is nothing currently happening that I haven't read on this forum sometime between the second half of 2015 and the end of 2019. Or 2005 and 2007 for that matter (although there was at least enough naivety to make it bearable back then).

The most miserable this place felt I still maintain was the back half of 2015 when it felt like we were no longer a credible flag threat and our window had slammed shut. And that was when we were on top of the f@#%ing ladder!

Ok, noted. Never that I can remember, also - I wasn't on this forum or in Perth at that time but remember that being a pretty dark era for sure.
