Maybe Pods could have some one on one practice with Harry.
Against Werribee in Harrys first year Pods absolutly tore Harry a new one by manhandling him very similar to Franklin and Rough head
Maybe he could now give him some tips

harry didnt play on pods much that game i remember it, he played on there other tall forward and jeremy larcombe who plays for grovedale played on him for most of the match

Geelong lack natural forwards bar Johnson and possibly Gamble, so recruiting Podsiadly means the glut of young forwards in the reserves can learn from him. I'd suggest his knowledge of how to play forward would be invaluable for Hawkins in particular, who has all the physical tools but perhaps lacks nous due to inexperience. Hawkins needs to learn how to get into positions to kick easy goals as well as the ones from bullocking play and big marks.

Exactly.

Yeah fair points but with a view to Hawkins playing v Hawthorn we really need the ALL the other forwards to be dangerous and work very hard to create space for each other. Hawthorn, despite not exactly having a 'name' defence, all work very well for each other and try to help out those who are one on one. If Hawkins can be isolated one on one deep then he could be very dangerous against them.

I am with a previous poster who questioned the acquisition of Podsiadly..I just cant understand why u would recruit an ageing full forward (i know he is a good player) when we have 3 young KP forwards in Hawkins, Brown and Simpson to try and develop. Granted, they may be expecting Hawkins not to play much VFL this season as we all dont, but still seems a strange decision.

Well we needed a captain for the vfl and there were no decent players around worth the money and plus he is working in the clubs fitness area helping out with afl weights and footy sessions so they must of thought why not. i think he is good because he will probably play back anyway

If he plays back then thats fine, but if he is in the forward line, i think it stifle the development of the other 3 if they are all playing.

yeah i quite agree. Which is why i think he will play back if all those other 3 guys are playing, and if we are losing and need a spark then i think he will go forward but its also a chance to get a scott simpson playing at chb to try and develop him in a different area.
