So the players sat on the tarmac for 2 hours, then got told they had to leave the plane because of "operational [mechanical] reasons".

Now they can either wait until 11:55pm for the red eye or go home, and come back to take the 5:50am flight.

FFS.

i really do not understand why we are not allowed to charter flights. what really shits me is why they were told to wait two hours only to be told they were going to cancel the flight. that would have been ample time to arrange to fly on another carrier and make it to sydney in time.

**** this all to hell and back.

This shit happens all the time, with every airline. It's just bad luck.

red eye is a ridiculously bad idea. i fly that flight every time i go over east, am five foot nothing, and struggle to get comfortable enough to sleep. imagine Sandi!

Unacceptable from Virgin. Waiting 2 hours on the Tarmac before making the call to cancel the flight is a joke.

AFL need to allow/consider pushing the game back so the team can prepare appropriately.

in our dreams. AFL are probably rubbing their hands in glee at all the mishaps we're having.

weird choice. they'll get in around 4pm with that one. the 6am flight gets in at 1pm sydney time.
I guess 6am flight means waking up at 4:30am? Probably not ideal.

Still 4pm doesn't give a whole lot of time to adjust.

Still reckon they shouldve gone to Melbourne and jumped on a short flight tomorrow morning to Sydney.

It's a bit surreal especially with a final on the line. I cant remember the last time a teams flight was cancelled. In the Harvey days we used to fly out a day before the game...cancelled flight then would have been disasterous
