Agree. I'd rate Betts first, followed by Davey and not much separating Fevola and PB.

As a football purist , Eddie Betts goal was GOTY by a margin .... freakish , off balance , everything was wrong , but he nailed it .
yeah it was from an impossible angle, after he had done the hard work to get the ball in the first place

Yep, spot on. The other four goals had skill, no doubt about that. But they had time to size things up (and in Goddard's case lots of time) and make a calculated move. Betts had none of that, and it wasn't a slap-it-on-my-foot and hope for the best goal either.
Having said that I voted for PB :o

There are about a dozen freak snap goals like Betts every year.

Final results
Brendon Goddard 35.4%
Brendan Fevola 3.6%
Aaron Davey 6.2%
Patrick Bowden 43.9%
Eddie Betts 11%

I suppose it all rests on how much you rate luck and pure arse and how much you rate skill. In Betts' case the only decision he made was to throw it on the boot and hope for the best (you can't tell me he actually sized things up). In PB's case he had the ball, looked at the goals and slotted it off the outside of the boot from an impossible angle.

An analogy for me would be the difference between a reflex catch at short leg or slip in cricket, they either stick or they don't, not much to think about really, and a catch taken at full length running backwards with the flight of the ball from a skied shot to cover.
