Agree, McLean is looking awful. Jetta straight to Casey 2s.

How are you giving Martin such high votes, if any? He took some solid marks and helped out in defence but, at the end of the day, he got 6 goals kicked against him by his direct opponent (4 to Anthoney, 2 to Cloke). Warnock was the far better defender today

3 - Davey - worked hard but was more damaging in the first half. In the second half most of his kicks just came from a half-metre handball to him. He was basically doing the kicking for our defence and wasn't very damaging. I'd have given him all 12 if the kicks were in the other half of the ground.

2 - Warnock - stood up well. Both of Cloke's goals came against Martin.

2 - Moloney - faded a bit but still very aggressive at the ball and getting close to his 2005 form.

2 - Green - another solid effort but needs to do this every week...well maybe not 3 goals every week but at least that many possessions and he was reasonably attacking with them.

1 - Morton - getting better with every game. Very good at finding space and well composed but still needs to work on his disposal.

1 - Miller - started on fire and presented well. He did go missing in the middle half which is when we lost the game. His kicking could have been better but this is just about as good as we can expect Brad to play.

1 - Jones - solid game. He still has only average awareness and worse kicking but gets a heap of the ball. Still disappointing that he only had 3 tackles (and I think 1 last week).

3 Davey - 31 quality disposals off half back, he looked comfortable there. Very good move by Bailey.
3 Warnock - Played well on Cloke all day and is very reliable in the air and on the ground.
2 Bruce - Consistent all day, got a heap of the ball, but didn't waste it like usual.
1 Green - 13 marks and 3 goals, good to see him used as an attacking weapon.
1 Miller - 14 marks is excellent, but only kicked 1.2 goal, which was disappointing.
1 Morton -25 disposals and 1 goal, set up a lot of play and looked composed with the ball.
1 Jones - gets his standard "hard working" vote, looked more confident with his kicking but still needs work.

Didn't realise Cloke got his two goals on Martin. If that's the case, I retract my vote for young Stef (despite other promising signs) and give Warnock an extra vote.

Davey did look comfortable at half back and I gave him 3 as well but he wasn't damaging at all in the second half. All he did was take the kicks that the defenders could have taken themselves. Sure, the kicks go to their targets when Davey does it but he can't just be mister fixit.

More like 10 quality touches and 20 cheap ones. Was good but not exceptional, and did he have a man? He has done this role in the past and if we are winning I'm for it, but if we are losing I'm not sure it adds much.

I can't really bother to do votes yet, but I think Frawley would be in for a few, he kept Medhurst very quite and kick the ball well today.

Nothing that Junktime Cloke does should ever count.

Take one goal off Anthony's total for Martin beating him in the contest only to cop a goal off the ground when nobody else went in to support him.

They were junk time goals but he still beat Martin easily on the lead for both goals.

Not quite. Was lucky to get the second goal after pushing Martin in the back in the marking contest, ump just put the whistle away.

Apparently all 27 of Davey's kicks were effective...but there's a difference between 'effectively' hitting a loose man 20 metres away in defence and being damaging. Much preferred his role early on attacking from the midfield where he actually hit targets in good positions. There's really no point in having him in the backline given the slow midfield we have at the minute.

Found it hard to give votes to Warnock, not that he did anything bad, his game just didn't warrant a vote. Yes, Cloke didn't score when Warnock was on him, but he was playing too far up the ground to do so and yet still managed to get possessions.

MFC officials still looking for any traces of Ricky Petterd.

Yes its certainly dissapointing to lose again, but again we were able to string a couple of quarters together.
Last season we were struggling to win quarters, let alone games.

So , at least we can see some real improvements happening ,and the younger brigade are getting valuable game under the belt. Keep it up Dees. !

3 - Frawley - Demolition job on Medhurst early, only 1 touch to half time, managed to keep who I consider Collingwood's best player reasonably quite for most of the game while not really being suited to the job bodywise.
2 - Warnock - Easily beat Cloke, Cloke went kick chasing up the ground to get touches.
2 - Morton - Great game and the kicking was on target most of the time.
1 - Miller - Started really well until Petter ko'd him, was solid for the rest of the game
1 - Davey - Lots of touches but not enough penetration or damage done.
1 - Martin - Started well and I'd consider him extremely unlucky to have 6(4 if you take away Anthony's out of mid-air and Cloke's push in the back) kicked on him
1 - Bate - Presented well all day, good linking
1 - Jones - Tried hard and linked well

McLean looked awful, he has to be closest to the slowest player on an AFL list. He was slow last year and seems to be 20% slower again now.
