Yeah I know Farmer probably wasn't strictly our 5th best, but from where he has come, his improvement is astonishing.
Edwards was good. Vickery's 2nd quarter gave me some hope. Jackson was in and under all day. Gus was decent.

Yeah, should have given Cotch votes, but just too many to choose from. Isn't it great to be able to say that.

I was thinking about Farmer whilst watching the game, and the thread about whether he is a keeper. Made some clangers, but the boy has a crack and did some good things.

5 - Reiwoldt...been arguing for years that FF is his go before CHF because of his contested marking, he's certainly put that argument to rest. Schofield gave him no easy ones (bar that free which wasn't there) after he'd kicked four on McKenzie and one on Embley, but he was just too strong and reading the flight of the ball incredibly well. One of the most entertaining and brilliant performances I've seen from a forward - and what about that set shot kicking after his scratchy start to the year!

4 - Deledio...ruled the backline with his precision ball use and even in the air on occasion, just the kind of dominant performance he's struggled to produce in past years, but can begin to do so regularly now he's settled into his best position.

3 - Tuck...thought the old warhorse was the best onballer from either side, did all his usual good things, but also really used the ball very well - including quality I-50's which helped us get our early break.

2 - Graham...nullified Cox and Naitanui in turn, neither could out-jump, outmuscle him, beat him in the air or at ground level - he's one seriously big lump of competitive man mountain. The ruck loomed as the one area of the ground they appeared to have a distinct advantage on paper, Graham squashed that notion from the opening bounce and just kept trampling it all day (complete with goofy grin! ). Just hope he can play the rest of his career relatively injury free because he's an important piece of the puzzle for us if he maintains his current standard or above.

1 - Martin...really only contributed two full quarters, but they were pure quality from a kid his age.

Edwards had arguably his best game, was terrific off half-back as were Tambling and Connors to give us the kind of rebound levels we've been desperate for, Newman was solid and gutsy - must have done a rib or two and played on. Cotchin and Jackson were great in the middle and Cousins was OK, Vickery combined together with Graham to beat Cox and Naitanui for effectiveness over four quarters IMO - sensational effort from both boys and really pleasing to see Vickery beating Cox 1-on-1 at ground level so many times...massive confidence booster for the kid.

Moore, McGuane and Astbury were all very solid, Nason and Collins both had great games and showed they can be very handy up forward. Farmer, White and King aren't going to finish top-10 B&F ever, but I've always maintained there's a place on any list for blokes who go about their football like these three do, full credit to them, all three were more than handy today.

Great effort from all the boys today, we didn't beat much but it was a real confidence booster and we played good attcking football most of the day with a young side.
