Not good enough. Nowhere near competitive enough.

2 points from 5 Pura Cup games.

We have at times fielded a very inexperienced side (in terms of both age and games played) this year. When you consider the youth of the side, you get some hope for the future.

- Against Victoria, there were 8 players in the 12 that had played 15 or fewer Pura Cup games... and 2 were first gamers.

- We also had 7 players born 79 or later... plus Edmonson who's a 78.

- Plus Rogers, Hussey, Clark out from our best regular state side side.

But not even inexperience is an excuse for the shellacking the Vics gave us today.

How has it come to this?

It's all transition at the moment, In a few years we'll have an experienced, talented attack with blokes like Clark, Thorp, Thistle and Taylor, plus some of the kids who are just beginning to play grade cricket now(Coetzee, Theo Dropolous and Ty Hopes being good examples) will be getting into the state squad.

But we're going to be up sh*t creek for a while:(

i hold extremely high praise for Beau Casson.

the fact he is trying the hardest craft in bowling, not just willing to be a finger spinner shows how much ambition he has.

and he does spin the ball alot, and despite limited success so far, I reckon he could have a big future.

I haven't seen him much at all, except for a dismissal where he absolutely defeated Mark Waugh in flight and clean bowled him with a beauty, can anyone describe his bowling please?

What about Brad Hogg Black Thunder he is the one keeping beau ot of the side i hope we dont have a repeat of stuart macgill and beau decides to develop elsewhere. Can they play in the same side?

as unusual as it would be to have two chinaman bowlers in a team, i don't see why WA don't employ it. It would be a massive shame for WA cricket if Casson leaves and develops elsewhere.
