Fraser McInnes - 18 disposals (8k 10h), 6 marks, 2 HOs, 1 i50, 2.2
Presented hard all day, clunked some good marks and could have had 4 goals on the day. A decent showing given the poor delivery he received.

Xavier Ellis - 24 disposals (16k 8h), 6 marks, 2 tackles, 4 i50s
What stood out about X's game was how clean he was by foot as opposed to every other play on the field. Wouldn't be surprised to see Simpson bring him back into the seniors sooner rather than later. A solid return.

Paddy Brophy - 25 disposals (15k 10h), 8 marks, 3 i50s
Was happy with Paddy's game today. Ran hard to provide an option for his teammates down back and even had a few rebounds in the second half. Looked confident kicking the ball for the most part.

Jonathan Giles - 7 disposals (3k 4h), 2 marks, 3 tackles, 20 HOs, 1.1
A poor match. Slow and cumbersome. Takes a long time to figure out what to do with the footy once he finds it in general play. Should have kicked more goals but was beaten in one-on-one contests by smaller opponents a few times. Won't play senior footy for this club.

Corey Adamson - 20 disposals (10k, 10h), 3 marks, 1 tackle, 3 i50s, 1.0
A solid game, nothing spectacular. Disposal was okay for most of the day but has a tendency to throw the ball onto the boot.

Tom Lamb - 15 disposals (6k 9h), 2 marks, 2 i50s, 0.1
Rubbish. Did not look interested, was behind his defender all day and jogged around rather than providing any pressure. Could not take a contested mark to save his life.

Kane Lucas - 27 disposals (10k 17h), 6 marks, 2 tackles, 2 i50s
A typical Lucas effort. Fumbled a lot, his kicking was poor, but he just attracts the footy at WAFL level. Never to be seen again at AFL level.

Thomas Barrass - 13 disposals (11k 2h), 5 marks
Was very good in the air, breaking apart some packs to spoil the ball away constantly. A pretty good game. Has a nice long kick on him too and used them to good effect in the kick outs in the second half.

Matthew Allen - 9 disposals (7k 2h), 5 marks, 3 i50s, 0.1

A very poor effort, but he is still so young so he's allowed a few. Dropped some simple marks, kicked very poorly and just couldn't get into the game.

Jamie Bennell - 17 disposals (12k 5h), 2 marks, 2 tackles, 1 i50, 1.1
Thought he had more of the ball than 17 touches. Decent depth for the seniors, he was slippery through traffic but his ball use probably wasn't up to its usual standard.

Luke Partington - 27 disposals (7k 20h), 1 mark, 2 tackles, 5 i50s

Got amongst it but was an error-riddled performance. Handball use was generally good and he does try to create and run with the ball. Would like to see him develop his kicking further as he often looks for the option by hand first. Lack of confidence perhaps?

Tom Cole - 20 disposals (13k 7h), 7 marks, 1 tackle

Came into the game in the second half after a quiet first and the Royals looked so much better with Cole up and going. His use by foot is very good, except for one or two shockers, and he just oozed composure. A goer.

Jackson Nelson - 23 disposals (16k 7h), 7 marks, 1 tackle, 3 i50s
A really poor game. Numbers are good but his disposal by foot was terrible. Can't fault his effort at all.

Snadden with another 21 possessions and 5 marks in the reserves.

Mutimer & Karpany (the kid seems to be going backwards) both had 12.

Also Will Magginness had 19 & 2 goals in his first game back. If he makes a successful return could we possibly see him re-rookied? Maybe we told him to stick around in the hope he would come good. We already had issues with waterman & Cavka so maybe they didn't want to carry another player who was touch and go into the season.

Another bust for the recruiters! How many fails have we had in an attempt to recruit a small forward? The list is endless.

It's because they keep trying to draft small forwards who can play in the midfield. Just draft a specialist small fwd ffs and then after a few years he may be able to push into the middle.

If it is true that Lamb thinks he is hot shit he should watch a tape of today's game to show him otherwise.
As far as his intent and attack today was actually one of his better days. That's says a bit.

Anyone know why Colledge and Tunbridge missed?

Barney44 I'm looking in your direction :p
Can't help you sorry. Didn't notice Tunbridge was missing until you mentioned it.

Maguinness didn't play at all until I left at quarter time and was only planning on playing a half. So if he must have had a great return if got 19 and 2 goals in half a game. Hope he feels ok tomorrow.

Thats true but only a few smalls these days play that deep role and one of them is betts but he does get used in the middle at times. Hopefully we can just lure one of the suns or giants young WA smalls.
