Our list has been so badly been treated in the last few years. Its as if after the 2010 draft they they took a nap and woke up in 2013 and said we better start recruiting good talent again. its seems nearly every kpd we pick up is at least AFL standard. We have issue with mids and especially with inside player but thats what happens when you dont recruit enough. The search for a quality small crumbing forward has now gone for just over a decade.

After 2010 we were rated ourselves as premiership contenders, we then traded for Cripps and wellingham, in order to solidify the team. That didn't work out and we went backwards as a result. It seems like season history is repeating itself again this season.

I want to see Cole played more on the wing to give us more mid options. Nelson should stick to playing down back and play as that defender that can negate small forwards. This is one area i think we lack in our backline.

to be fair we killed it with every pick (except brennan) in the 2010 draft and picked up mcgovern in the rookie draft. its only since simmo has come in that we are back to picking better talent.

Yes the year when we came stone motherless last and should have got the 1st draft pick, however bingo the new clubs gets the first whatever draft picks which put us (and other teams after us) behind the 8 ball. Personally think the AFL went overboard with the concessions for Gold Coast and GWS.

Doubt Snadden makes the cut with at least three to drop out, probably five if two of our emergencies get released. Good to see him pushing for a spot anyway.

Allen might get dropped down to the twos as well.

But ..... Matera is contracted on good money .
We would have to satisfy GC with a trade and honour the contract matera is on . I doubt he would take a pay cut

Yeah matera isnt worth it. The guys is in and out of their side at the moment. Unless the suns are willing to take a lower pick its not worthy it. The guy is averaging just over a goal a game and isnt good enough to be HFF or push into the midfield either. I can't see him having a future at AFL level tbh.
