PERTH DEMONS

In 2009 - the unthinkable happened. The Perth Football Club folded, and along with it, 110 years of history. No more Demons, no more Redlegs... nothing. That is until 2017 - following the relocation of the Falcons and the Royals, there was a glaring hole in the landscape of WA footy, no Perth team. Following years of petitioning, campaigning and finally the backing of investors, the Perth Demons were reborn. Playing out of a downsized and redeveloped WACA Ground, the club is slowly returning to it's glory days including the signing of Lance Franklin, bringing him home to where it all began. The club also has high profile names such as Jaeger O'Meara, Michael Johnson and Sharrod Wellingham on their list, the latter two being former players of the club. The guernseys feature a "split" sash, in the form of two sharp red shapes suggestive of a demon's horns - whilst still maintaining the tradition of the red-on-black sash element.

I like. The away guernsey looks especially good. Curious as to why the heritage sash is right to left whereas home and away is left to right?

That slightly pink tinged shade of red is a beauty

Home/clash sashes are left-to-right because I wanted it to have a point of difference to Claremont and Joondalup who already have the same sash essentially, and I've always liked the inverse sash design which is very rarely seen. Heritage throughout this project is basically my "apology" to all those I hurt by changing up a team's design, and as such, it's in the classic right-to-left orientation. ;)

It's kinda like my rugby team, rising from the ashes, like a phoenix; or should I say Phoenix Holden, proud sponsors of the Perth Football Club.

Love the slightly more bright scarlet red, and the keeping of the red socks.

The fact that Perth is finally back at the WACA, my spiritual home growing up as a young chap, has brought a tear to my eye. I would buy membership PRONTO!

And thank god Ben Cousins isn't the captain-coach!

I know it's completely up to your motivation, and unlikely considering your location, but would love to see you work your magic in a similar fashion on the SANFL.

You know you've got the FJGD forum eating out the palm of your hand when you can get 11 (now 12!) likes on 3 sash recolours ;)
That's what happens when the template and presentation are well made.

^ this.

The heritage solely exists to “throw a dog a bone” to those who would get annoyed at me changing up the designs.
oh, the heritage looked black to me. i see now it is a very dark navy - play on. again i'm not criticising this portfolio - i think its amazing.

Traditionalists will sh*t themselves about the East Perth name (im one of them) but its very much like the Footscray/Western Bulldogs thing. Plus you really cant have an East Perth club in the western suburbs - it was bound to happen. (surely by 2022 they relocate to Optus Stadium and become East Perth again????):praying:

ooh expansion team after P? are we staying local, or going country?
I'm calling South West. Bunbury or Busselton were the obvious non-South West names.

RIP peel thunder
thank god for that. Looking forward to a team that was created in the 90s that wasn't a derivative of the PA Power.

i second the south-west name - incorporates Mandurah all way down to Busselton. Massive region that has produced loads of quality WAFL and AFL products.

oh boy you're in for a disappointment haha

ROCKINGHAM MARINERS

The league's expansion in 2006 saw the formation of the Rockingham-Kwinana Mariners, based out of the Kwinana Motorplex Speedway, which was repurposed for a football oval during the winter (off-season) of racing events. The team name of "Mariners" was based off of the coastal location of the two cities, as well as the Motorplex being located on Kwinana Beach with views of the ocean over the hills. The guernsey since inception has been a dual-tone purple and black affair, however this season they are updating the look to include a new wave-motif and a straight number panel as opposed to the "waved" one of previous seasons. A notorious struggler team, the club has only made the finals four times in their brief history, and never making it past the first week. The results haven't deterred crowds however, with a passionate fanbase coming out to support the boys in purple week in, week out. Currently the list includes gun forward Michael Walters, Cale Hooker and local products Daniel Wells and Shane Kersten. In 2018, the club dropped "Kwinana" from the name to become simply known as the Rockingham Mariners.

Mmmm, colour set works exceptionally well. I like how vibrant the purple is in the H&A.

I can't wait to see the Swan Districts design you have. Fingers crossed that they didn't fold and/or merge

Love the home jumper. Not completely feeling the clash and not feeling the heritage at all. Kinda like the early Dockers really.

FWIW I was trying to make the heritage as garish as possible.
