going by what TW said on talking football and other outlets our starting 22 IMO it would/should look something like this

B:Newman,Moore,Hall.
HB:Bowden,Jackson,Pettifer.
C:Tivendale,Johnson,Tambling.
HF: Deledio,Shultz,Gilmour.
F:Krakour,Richo,Brown.
R:Ottens,Couglan,Hodge :D [only thru psd].
I/C:Stafford,Hartigan,Hyde,Campbell.

IN: Deledio[#1],Tambling[#4],Hodge[psd],Coughlan[New Recruit],Gilmour.
OUT:Zantuck[trade],Chaffey[trade],Gasper[trade],Fleming[Coburg].

all speculative of coarse in regards to deledio while he did mention Tamblings name on talking football and knowing TW,s coaching style Tambling would fit TW,s mould.

cheers!

That backline will be smashed by the big forwards. No height/strength at all.

Krakour,Richo,Brown

That forward line is potentially up there with any in the competition if Richos kicking is on song.

understand that IITB however next year will be the start of the rebuilding phase.
I.ve watched Moore closely since he arrived at the club and like his namesake he is a Full back.once he puts on a bit of bulk imo he will be the next scarlett :D
jackson could turnout to be a great attacking CHB and fit into TW,s plans of an attacking HB line.
another option that i like is use schultz at chb and Jackson on a flank.

all depends on who we get in the draft and possible trades.

cheers!

Not bad TOO

Looks like a good base to start the rebuild.Who did we get for Gaspar,Zantuck,Kellaway and Chaffey?

Draft picks for a few project CHB's and Ruckmen hopefully.
i would hope we get one player for a player in a trade while the others will be draft picks.
IMO
Gasper to West Coast for a rnd 2 pick
Zantuck to Melb for someone like Chris Lamb
Chaffey-perhaps a 2nd rnd but more likely a 3rd.
Kellaway-3rd pick.

cheers!

Can't wait to see this Jackson play. Sounds like he's gonna be a gun.

good post l like your vision one things for sure wally will not put up with mediocrity like a chaffey etc

G'day Caro... glad to see you back (and by the sounds of it, in a positive frame of mind).

You're right... Chaffey can farck off and the horse he rode in on.

We said that this year as well.

We did Wally. The thing about next season is we'll have a coach who has a clue though.

Personally I'd play Campbell as a full time forward pocket next year.We don't want to have him anywhere near the midfield if we can avoid it.Browny can play HFF.

Sounds good, fairly realistic.I hope Miller can pull even a couple of those deals off.

No way... What's with Chris Lamb? He couldnt make it into Melbourne's side last year (they finished 14th). :(

Chaffey... a bowl of soup and a stale biscuit. :o

Talk about eating our own... this bloke has more courage than the rest of the team put together. Stay and show the rest of them how to put your body on the line.

Wally.I used to be a big A.kellaway fan too for the reasons you state but the fact of the matter is the game is passing him by.

He can't even get a game atm and he's one of Danny's favourites.

He's too small for key postion back(although he was brave last season) and he's not mobile enough to play on the small goals sneaks.

We tried him forward and that doesnt work.

When he's on the wing he holds up play with his indecision. His disposal isn't great and he is fairly slow.

IMO TOO is right. He's exactly the type of player we should be getting rid of while he still has a little bit of currency.

I understand the sentimental reasons for keeping him. He's played his guts out for us for a decade almost.Often against insumountable odds.Unfortunately thats not good enough anymore. We are languishing on the bottom. There needs to be some drastic measures.New blood is required for a new Richmond ERA.

Fair point Evo. My only worry is that the system only allows you to turn over a certain number of players per year. If turn him over, then we're stuck with someone like Marsh and co.

Totally agree with you though... he would have some value out there to a side that has backline strength and needs someone to mind a 3rd or 4th forward.

good to hear from yo walter mate i am always positive abvout this great club, now we need a stronhg tough backman (good to see kellaway in the twos) and key fwd and midfielder, if we buy, sell and shuffle we can get there.....wallace will clean out this club of hacks starting witht he players and coaching panel

agreed evo.i use to be[well i still am] an admirer of AK because of his courage and determination to get the best out of his ability.the sad fact of the matter is under TW,s plan he wants an attacking backline and im afraid AK dosent fit the bill.if we had a solid FB and CHB then there might have been a place for AK as a 3rd backman.but there is not under the current structure.

new scenery may do wonders for lamb.look at the likes of clement and mcphee.Zantuck is expendable and lamb fits as a cheap get.[even tho lamb chops are at a all time high atm  :D ]

Kellaway will be 29 by the end of this year. Players of that age have absolutely no currency with any club, unless they are a superstar. Any talk of trading him is pointless. Kellaway will see out his contract with Richmond then retire.

Anyone know when his contract is up?

Andy Kellaway can't be a team's number 1 defender, but that isn't news to us. The problem has been that he has been forced into the role by the various struggles of Hall, Gaspar and Zantuck, the fact that Moore, Jackson and Schulz aren't ready and the fact that Morrison and Weller have not come up.

AK is still very capable in the 2nd-3rd defender role and keeping him around will give the likes of Moore, Jackson, Schulz and next year's draft picks more time to develop without being thrown to the wolves.

Shame about Hodge!

Ok Changes.

In: Morrison to CHB (move jacko or Tambling to Hodge's spot)
Out Hodge

We want to get this priority pick and trade hard to get another pick in the top 10...we can get a mid, ruck and a key all in the top 10 i'll be happy
