I don't know if you guys heard 3aw yesterday but Wallsy really does rate essendon and thinks we are one of three teams who can take out next years flag. Im not sure whether sheeds and Wallsy are having an affair or what but Rob seems to have fallen in love with us over the last couple of years. Essendon have always been at their best with Walls showing his Anti-Essendon bias. 2000-2001 was a good example as he took every opportunity to sink the boots in although those opprtunities were few and far between.

Now he spends every second week heaping praise on sheeds and our club. As well he uses every opportunity top tell us all he was a bombers nut as a kid. I dont like this new essendon loving rob walls.....gives me the creeps to know this guy is on the bandwagon. Maybe he wants the coaching Job when sheedy goes, who knows?

Walls has been impressed with the young players we've got coming through and the way we've rejigged our list whilst still being a fairly decent side.

What were the other two sides he thinks can win next year's flag? Brisbane and Collingwood?

I think perhaps Walls realises his Essendon bagging got so ridiculously non-stop and over the top, that he is trying to make amends becasue he realises that one team is creating a monopoly on the game and this is not good - hence any challenger he can find he will give a go.

The other amazing point about this guy is he went for the Dons as a kid.

Perhaps he now realises that most of the top teams play crap boring footy and we don't.

Actually, the only top side that I would say plays boring football is Collingwood.

Port play a pretty terrible brand as well. And Sydney just strangle teams and unless O'Loughlin fires they have a boring gameplan to watch.

Brisbane and Adelaide and I guess Freo as well play an attacking good style of footy.

What?

Port and Sydney are two of the most skillful sides in the competition, and that's what they rely on. They rely on kicking to uncontested players and carrying the ball through space.

Collingwood "strangle teams". Sydney are rather exciting, they play a very free flowing game.

Port hold onto the ball and then kick short to an uncontested player, then hold the ball then... and so on. They were the most boring team Essendon played against because for most of the game we had to watch them just hold the ball after marking it.

Sydney try to strangle teams - at least when I have seen them play. A prime example was the Richmond game this year. They just want plenty of players at the stoppages.

Still thats just from what I have seen.

Yup, that's Port's game. And when they are at their best, they are great to watch. Clean disposal, move the ball quickly, end to end stuff.

I saw a fair bit of Sydney this year, only for the reason that I found them to play exciting football. They backed themselves to run and carry the ball, and they were a very free flowing side.

I don;t mind watching guys like Kennelly but I still think with their focus on guys like Kirk and Bolton who - while get a lot of it play more negating roles.

I don;t know if you saw either of Essendons two games against Port - but I wasnt the only one getting frustrated with the stagnat gameplan Port employed. It will win you matches but will it win you flags or fans???
