Another trade week, another disapointment.
For all our stand tough talk we ultimately gave him away for exactly what the Blues originally offered.
I realise we need draft pick's to fill up our list, but in all honestly what chance do picks 56 and 72 have to go on and make good careers?
Carlton have officially moved up the ranks of one of my most hated clubs. Tough to be angry at Warnock considering we have built a list on homesick players, lets hope going forward we do the Blue's not favours at the trade table (Take a similar stand to the eagles).

But that's how real clubs add a sweetener. No one's going to throw in a McPhee or a Medurst at the 11th hour like Schwabbie did.

Fremantle did all they could. In reality Carlton held all the cards and it was either accept the deal or get nothing.
Don't worry about opposition trolls. It's lose/lose. You get criticised for accepting the deal. If you rejected it there would be just as many laughing at you for losing him for nothing, moreso if we managed to snare him in the PSD.

Warnock -> Pick 24 and 56 should have been the deal.
Anyway, I seriously doubt (and hope for your sake) that dropping down 3 spots does not affect a late selection.

He should be available at pick 56 maybe even 72.

I wish we hadn't given them 69 too though. Even if just for appearances sake - it would've looked a bit better if it was just Warnock for multiple picks rather than us throwing in our own picks as sweeteners.

Not an auspicious start to the new managements trading record, but it goes to show how difficult it is to make a deal go through. No point playing tough guys either and ending up with nothing at all. But seriously is there any point at all in swapping 69 and 72?
It doesn't matter, that pick 72 will probably move about 10 places when other clubs start passing

Crap Deal. Better than nothing but underwhelming in the end. Carlton have now jumped to my number 1 most hated team in the AFL. I hope Warnock plays less than 20 games for the rest of his career.
