I get that feeling as well, going to be a very young and different squad next year. Injuries to some best 22 players will test our depth.

Picked one club...Freo's chances of getting what he is worth just fell like a brick.
Well to be honest, if you can get a very good talent in Griffen, and pick 24 from us, that would be pretty good compo for your club IMHO, even if Carlton got a great deal, but the fact that you get Griffen means your club would get decent value in that trade ..

I'm not trolling when I say this but in light of the Gold Coast consessions.
This years Draft will be the most important for 5 or so years and no club will want to trade their first round picks.
If you're going to risk having Warnock just walk out anyway you HAVE to try and take the best deal on the table be it with Carlton or anyone. It'd be stupid of Fremantle or ANY club in this position to lose a player for nothing now.

By Warnock picking Carlton, and them actually rating him highly, it gives Freo more leverage for trade.
If Carlton dont offer us a good deal then we let him go through to the PSD, this will serve a warning for other players/clubs that we wont tolerate being screwed over.
Lets face it, if his brother wasnt in the AFLs worst club, then he would be doing all he could to avoid playing for the Demons when there are so many better Melbourne clubs to play for. This type of scenario wont repeat itself to much in the future.

You are missing the point in this scenario, if he was happy to negotiate with the demons during the season then i'm sure he wouldn't mind going to the demons. And i know some Fremantle supporters would want to take a stance such as letting him walk free if a deal doesn't arise, the club will not buy it. When every minute goes by during trade week, they will shit their pants on the threat of losing him for nothing and thus accept the best possible deal come Friday.
the best result for freo is to come to an agreement with melbourne.

two problems with this.
1. robbie may not want to go to melbourne. everyone is assuming that if freo make a deal with melbourne, that all will be sweet, but if robbie has his heart set on carlton, he wont sign with melbourne
2. if robbie indeed does not want to become a dee, then he can walk into the NATIONAL draft, where anyone can get him, the highest bidder will win and freo will again get nothing for him

point 1 in this situation robbie doesnt have a choice for the following reasons. if he doesnt accept going to the deamons & elects to go in to the n/d can he nominate his price it was suggested that he cant but im not sure.
2.point is i dont think he will elect to go into the draft & will accept the deal melbourne,fremantle have come to .melbournes picks are before carltons so there is no way he will end up at carlton.
but the buety of this deal is if he enters n/draft he will end up at port adelaide without a doubt. that is something warnock will not risk
he will accept & go to play with his brother or carlton WILL give fremantle pick 6.
fremantle are know in a very very strong position CALL HIS BLUFF
freo have nothing to lose & pick 6 to gain.
it will also show furure players & other clubs that you are not a team that are prepared to be bent over anymore.

Connells: "ok fair enough you trade warnock to who you want, ive just got to call jack watts to tell him to not nominate for this years draft so i guess since we cant get warnock off you best we take natanui with pick 1. Anyway thanks Bondy" connells walks away
