There's 1 minute left on the clock. Mumford takes the ball out of the ruck (no mean feat) in his defensive goalsquare and somehow pulls off a ridiculous slight of hand vs Pendlebury. If it goes awry the pies probably take the lead and Mumford likely goes down in history for committing one of the biggest blunders in football history.

Extra points because it made a smart footballer in Pendles, look stupid.

He had a DE of 37%, gave away more free kicks than anyone on the ground, his opponent had 73 hit outs, and he looked cooked for most of the day, like the game had past him by. But Mummy's last quarter, particularly the last 15 minutes where he just willed himself from contest to contest and made the right decisions, was a factor in them winning the game.

Will be huge for them this week, along with Shaw, the only premiership players on their list.

Have to give massive props to the big, slow and old ruckman pulling out that move in the dying seconds of a prelim against one of the champion footballers of the modern era. If he had messed that up he would have got his right whack so deserves some praise for pulling that one out.

Outrageously good piece of football.

At the time I thought, 'that is best candy sale I have ever seen'.

Glad to see it get its own thread. Deserves it.

Goal line, wet footy, opponents nearby, dying moments of a prelim, all the momentum with the opposition, a few points in the game.

Against Pendlebury of all people.

And it was by an aging ruckman.

Tremendous stuff.
