What's everyone's ideal final ladder position?

Hypothetically:
We finish top 4 - tougher draw in 2014 most likely?
Finish 8th to 5th - Slightly less challenging you would assume.

Obviously finishing as high as possible is the ideal goal. But can we really compete with Swans/Hawks/Cats on the last day of Sept.... who knows.

We have definitely had abit of help with our push to the 8 with average seasons from Adelaide, West Coast, Carlton and Collingwood. But we have just been ticking along nicely. Winning the games we expect to win, and pushing Fremantle early in the year was a good test for the boys.

The games vs. Swans/Hawks/Freo/Dons to come will be a great barometer for the second half of 2013.

My theory is that with the draw being a "fixture" and as the AFL see us as a big $$ spinner for them we will probably get a pretty good draw as Collingwood have received over recent times despite the fact that they have finished pretty high on the ladder. The AFL want us in the finals badly.

If we make the 8 this year and do well, we will more than likely be their saviour in that the interest we will generate in the media will certainly help to keep the focus on the game amidst the frenzy that the Essendon fiasco will bring when it reaches its climax just before the finals.

You're probably correct there. If we make finals and draw big crowds, the AFL 'may' be slightly opposed to giving us a tough draw and travelling more often than not.

With a supporter base of 60,000+ and growing, I can see us pencilled in for a favourable fixture in 2014 with more Friday/Saturday night broadcasted games.

IMO, the next 2 games against North and GC are huge. Win both of those and the pressure is off in the Hawthorn/Sydney/Freo games. I know it seems the last few weeks have been 'crunch games' but these 2 games are massive. 1 is a finalist from last year and around us in terms of quality of list while the other is one that has beaten us twice. Win both and I'll be much more confident about our team's credentials :thumbsu:
