I think we look a lot quicker this year. I understand that when your winning you look quicker as its rolling your way etc. But we seem to be a lot quicker this year, Murphy especially looks as though he has added a good yard of pace.

Does anyone know time trials etc. that the team does for short sprints for this year compared to previous. I would really be interested to see the difference and where it has come from. Cordy would be one I know who is responsible, but I also wonder whether the extra work, Juddy did has something to do with it, if he had any secrets to his pace etc.

The run downs from behind seem to be more prominent, I think this has to do with the mental side as well. With players knowing now that its part of being succesful the more they win the more they will do it. Also saw Murph just tear away from some Bulldogs players yesterday, really stood out.

It would be good to get some feedback from BB.

its just our players are more confident and there's more run and carry.
and the addition of judd!

gibbs and murphy are running with the ball and also with judd and stevens who didnt play last year= faster team.

additionally waite is giving a lot of run out of defense and scotland seems to be running more with the ball then he has done in the past.

Last year we had Whitnall, Kennedy, Saddington, Ackland and Kouta running around for us, along with Bentick, Blackwell and others at times.

We were an extremely slow team. The introduction of youth and faster players has made us a much more competitive side no doubt.

Fitness would definately have something to do with it also. Lasting memories of not being able to run out games would have effected the way we saw players speed ability.

A lot has changed since this time last year, yet it seems like so, so long ago.

Definatly quicker, no Bentick was the main thing. I recon Browne is doing his apprentership in the backline like Gibbs has done and will go into the midfield some time next year and play Benticks role and be a star at it.

I'm struggling with this.

Our slowness low-point was V the Tassie Hawks. Denis decided to play Lance and Saddo in the defensive half. I think Ackland and possibly JK were also playing in that game. That speed issue has been addressed. None of those players are at the club now, except for Saddo. All of our tall KP defenders have leg speed, and other defenders like Walker, Armfield, and Browne are blistering. Fev is the fastest player in the AFL over 25m or so, and Murph and Gibbs have definitely added some leg speed to their game this year. Players like Russell, Anderson and Grigg are also very fast. It has been an amazing transformation in fact. Even Hampson and Kruezer are pretty quick. Judd even turned on the after burners on a few brief occasions yesterday - that was impressive. :)
