Hope so. Mackie was awesome yesterday. Incredibly composed under-pressure. An underrated footballer IMO. The Cats defense is still outstanding even though Scarlett and Milburn are getting on a bit.

I really doubt that we would go after any Geelong players TBH. Although I would love to get Djerrkura as I think he may well become a great player if he can improve his endurance I don't see it happening. Also Gillies is someone that I would absolutely love at Carlton he will not be moving clubs. He is being developed to be one of the replacements for an ageing backline of Scarlett, Harley and Milburn. The Cats need him.

I doubt though that the Cats will be in as much trouble as perceived. Harley should move on and along with D Johnson, Tenace and Egan going, who you'd suspect to all being on decent money, they should have an allright amount of cap space. Regradless of this I don't think that Bomber was talking about getting rid of players like Gamble, Hogan, Gillies, Laindrey or Djerrkura. Not only is that rediculous as they would all be on tiny salaries but I believe that he was talking about similar trades as Prismall or King, so in the end the big trades by Geelong may just be them offloading the forementioned D Johnson, Tenace and the like. I doubt Carlton would go after them.

I am definitly open to the idea of picking up Gamble. With an ageing Ottens and middle of the road ruckmen in Mumford and Blake, perhaps Geelong might look at Jacobs as the answer to reboot this division in their team. not sure about that one though, would probably have to deliver a pick as well

Lake had been close to signing a deal with the Western Bulldogs about three weeks ago, but talks have stalled.

Don't disagree that Prismal is the better footballer, but i think Tenace has been used out of position at Geelong due to their awesome midfield and possibly much maligned like many of our own players.

Just a thought.

we dont need anymore midfielders, we need talls...forward and back! only potential players I can see us getting from them who suit these needs are;


Scott Simpson - 196cm / 92kg/ Forward
Mitchell Brown - 195cm / 82kg/ Forward

not sure if they would give them up though, quality youth there.
