The exact sort of player we need. A quick, flashy, skilful midfielder who is still relatively young and has plently to learn from Voss. At Port he often gets tagged, but with the messiah (Daniel Rich) and a few other up and coming mids. Pearce could quite possibly not get as much attention at the lions. Or if he did, I'm sure vossy would teach him a thing or two that choco couldn't. I am all for having a shot at Pearce come trade time.

I think they will. He has a different name. As for should we trade for him. I would go for Boak but if that is not an option definetly. Can be a star on his day!

Give me the consistantly hard worker over the 'star on his day' any day of the week.

Hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work.

He certainly had family (mum) who lives on the Gold Coast, wonder if she still lives here. Maybe GC17 would like him.

I don't:(

Pearce has talent but Port has terrible coaching staff. They are animals and thugs. If he plays for us, he would learn to make the most of his gifts and not act like a tool.

If there's a Port player I'd give a few hooks in the head, it would be Brett Ebert. What an imbecile! Not to mention that his dad is overhyped trash!

I would not be against it (for the right price).

Same here. We really need speed, he may not be the perfect fit for the job though. Similar to Trav (aside the speed factor), he can be pretty skilled on his day, but he also can be extremely ordinary during his off days. Having said that if we got him for nothing I'd take him. He's better than Harding!*

Pearce is just a faster version of Johnstone. The only players I'd rather we traded for are decent players like Ryan Griffin, Dids, kerr or just keep the pick.

I'd take Pearce but what we really should be looking for is an in and under player who can address our clearance issues. I dont think Pearce is that player but I'd entertain him.

From all accounts we offered Matt Pridis some reasonable $ to come to Brisbane which he knocked back - so that suggests we are on the lookout and one would expect its because of Black and Power only having a couple of years left.

Is there another Davey ? That kind of guy ...

Now you're talking.

The Davey of the Aaron variety is the one I'd love at the Lions.....rarely plays a poor game.....and man....those exquisite foot skills!

As for Pearce....pass!....front running seagull who has a habit of becoming invisible when the going gets tough....easy to put the blame on the coach but if I remember correctly, Williams has dropped him several times (no doubt for attitude problems)

If a player of his experience can't get his head, attitude or whatever right under one coach, i doubt if a change of scenery would do the trick.

Only been dropped once for one week since his debut game. he is staying at the port...not up for trade:)

D.Pearce does seem like a distractible player out on the field who could be prone to some nutcase behaviour. But then again, this is a bit par-for-the-course at Port Adelaide, so if Voss thought he was coachable, I could well see that he could be useful to our team. He probably wouldn't be my first pick though.

Boak would be one player I'd seriously think about, but I don't know if he'd be on offer. I wouldn't say no to B.Ebert of Port Adelaide. He might not be "exactly" what we're missing, but I still think he could be very useful, considering our lack of small forwards.

There was something mentioned on the news this morning that talks between Richmond and Deledio had stalled due to an issue over money. I reckon Richmond will end up meeting Deledio's terms, but I'd seriously be trying to get in Deledio's ear with an option for him to play with the Lions and also be thinking up a trade scenario that might be attractive to Richmond. With that said, I think they'd probably expect something like our first-round pick, plus Henderson! I'd be very reluctant to give up Henderson. I suppose if it was a deal for Deledio and Richmond's second-round pick for Henderson and our first-round, that would probably be a "fair" swap, but still questionable as to whether or not it would be beneficial.

I rate Deledio and I think he could be really good with us, so it's definitely something worth considering. However, we wouldn't want to end up with another C.Wood/J.Grimes/T.Johnstone type of scenario (even though I think Johnstone can still play decent footy).

I suppose the other option would be swapping our first and second-round picks for Deledio and one of their picks (either second or third-round, depending on how negotiations go), but even so, it is a fair price and risk that we are paying (even if it is fair on paper).

Delidio looks like a player who could be a really good player in a good side, rather than rather somewhat inconsistent(and sometimes looking lost) in a side like Richmond.

I too, rate him.

As always though, it's a question of what we'd have to give up to get him.

Can't see the Tiges letting him go cheaply.

I'd definitely give up our first two picks for him. I have no idea if that would be enough, I'm guessing no though.

Henderson is borderline untradeable IMO though. Wouldn't even entertain it unless the deal with seriously tilted in our favour.

Re Deledio, Hutchy (yes I know, Hutchy) said on the footy show last night that there is a 3 year deal on the table that will be signed next week...
