He's a Collingwood 7 footer.
I think he is well respected. My only observation is his delayed decision making, sometimes holds onto the ball that half second too long......in big games/finals could be a problem.
However the more he plays the more confident & sure he will become with ball in hand.
is it delayed decision making or does he possess poise to find the right option? i think he quite often shows calm and poise to find the right option - to me, poor decision making is to boot the ball as soon as u get it without thinking.. he has pretty good decision making for a kid who has played 15 games and is 200+ cms..

Dustin Martin, Ben Kennedy, Matt Crouch, Tim Broomhead, Steele Sidebottom, Dayne Beams and Taylor Adams? Our future looks pretty good to me.

Have I missed something?

Backline is way way too small. Reality is we need another second tall forward. Reid needs to go down back

OP indicates that people will have preferences about places in the team and line up but the point of the post was to express optimism of a quick climb back up the ladder.

As to the team being too small down back the team has 2x KPDs in Brown & Keeffe, as well as Toovey (189cm), Goldsack (193cm), and Seedsman (191cm) who can all play that 3rd tall defender roll if required. Don't know if more is needed.

Someone gets it!

Yer....I thought about that as well (like Pendles takes that extra split second to assess options & seems to have an eternity), but I just wasn't sure which one it was with Keeffe.
We shall see how he develops next year.....22 games & looking good.

Seedsman as a third tall defender would be funny to watch... The guy's decision making skills near forward 50 leads to turn overs that lead to opponent inside 50 entry... Imagine him nearer the opponents goal square.

Seedsman's Footy IQ is terrible at this stage, he has a long ways to go in that department.. His kicking is good.

What I do know is that when battlers like Blair and Goldsack (as much as I love them both) struggle to get a game, we will be on the right track. We need our youth to push them out.

It's through the middle and up forward that we can lack height. Also in our depth and fringe players. We do have a lot of sub 180cm players.

Played nearly all his games at HB unless I'm missing something.

Agree, hurt us at times this season but I was responding to a comment about the defense.

Look forward to see how Witts, Frost, Paine, Gault, and Oxley develop with another preseason under their belts. Oxley in particular could be a revelation next season forward. I'd also like to see Heater play HFF or wing next season if he's still with us.

And who knows what trading and the drafts will bring.

From what I have been hearing. Collingwood might slide. I don't think all is not well at Collingwood.

I'm just saying I have heard some things. All I will say is..........Buckley isn't as good as some of you think he is. Put it this way, I wouldn't want to be a Collingwood player at the moment.

By the way, everyone is going on about the "culture" of the club. Well all I will say is, there is nothing wrong with the culture. Maybe the man in charge is the problem........the coach.

So you can all take what I'm saying on board or you can ignore me and think I have lost the plot, or you can critisize me or abuse me or whatever, but unless any of you really know or have someone connected to the club, then some of you really don't know what is really going on.

I'll leave it to the rest of all of you to work it out for yourselves.....

You may well be right but you won't get any support on this board for any anti Buckley thoughts. He can do no wrong according to the majority of posters. Even when it appears that players are keen to leave the club in search of greener pastures, this is seen as simply Bucks ridding the club of deadwood and rebuilding the culture to fit his philosophy and style. If you have heard anything negative about him, keep it to yourself. Just some friendly advice.:)

Perthboy 87, I agree with you 100%. I spoke to a 2010 premiership player last Saturday night and that is what I got out of the conversation as well. I was shocked at some one the things I heard. I think we will finish from 9th-12th. I can't see how we will improve on this year tbh, players like Elliot, Keefe, Sinclair, Maxwell, Seedsman and Josh Thomas all in the same team is a real worry, lacking in experience and Maxwell is now past it as a player. Top 8 is still a chance but nothing higher than that.

Don't worry mate I will be keeping it to myself, but as they say, there is a time and a place and when the time is right.........it will all come out.

As for players keen to leave for greener pastures..........you gotta ask yourself why?

As for my comments, I'm not running Bucks down. I'm only saying it how it is at the club.

But yes I will be keeping what I know to myself.

Yeah, you should heed TheGreatDawes' warning unless you don't know what board you're posting on.
This isn't the Collingwood board anymore, it's the Buckley board.
There's gonna be #standbybucks and shit soon.

Oh and is Andy gonna pursue another AFL chance?

Not sure at this stage mate.

So who was it you spoke to? I doubt you are telling the truth since you have no reason to withhold the players name. I promise I wont leak this important information to the Herald Sun if you tell us.

1) You "don't think all is not well", yet the rest of your post implies you don't think all is well. Which is it?
2) You have just said 'all I will say is' twice. Which is it?
3) Nobody knows what 'things' you are talking about that you have supposedly heard, other than you imply that you know/have spoken to someone within the club and the connotations are negative, so it's impossible for anyone to dispute or support what you're saying in any meaningful way. Your comment is therefore pointless in this thread.
4) Please explain how anybody could possibly work anything out for themselves from the drivel you posted
5) Buckley is awesome.

He is no longer at the club and retired, that's all I am going to say. I loved Bucks as a player and always will but as a coach I don't. The way people are acting is as if Bucks is god and can't do no wrong, they would rather see the whole list turned over than moving on Bucks. Bucks is an individual. Yes! An individual and he will never be bigger than the club nor will anyone else be. If he deserves to be criticized then he should be.

Buckleys turning over the list and getting games into kids before its too late.

- Jolly,Didak,Krakouer and Russell - all gone - none of them offered anything our young kids couldnt this season
- Daisy is asking for overs on his contract - Clubs not paying overs and deciding to let him go - he hasnt even been in our team for almost 2 years consistently. Massive tick in terms of cap space and compensation or ability to use that space to get another free agent.
- Games were put into several youngsters this season
- Filled two of our most recent worrying positions on the field with a couple of youngsters who performed well above expected in Grundy for ruck and Marley for small back to stop the small forwards

Clubs heading in the right direction. Just need to draft/trade for our weaknesses in the next couple of drafts and we are back in it. Need to really focus on our forward line structure next year and making it more roam free for Cloke or drafting a decent second tall who is dangerous ( Lynch doesnt cut it ) we also need a crumbing small stay at home forward. Move Cloke and Elliots marking power up to the flanks as a link in play.

Small forward, Second tall and possibly a kick in specialist/half back flanker are our biggest needs currently.

Not as dire as some would believe considering we were just off the pace of a top four position with an injury riddled year whilst blooding a lot of young players and turning over the older ones who are past it.
