With the evil eye he gives you fair dinkum you would give it up if you had a guilty conscience. I felt guilty and I know I'm for real. I pulled my new cap out of my bag and waved it at him and he just frowned more and said doesn't mean anything, spies wear the Freo gear sometimes to fool you. Maybe he was taking the piss but he does it well if he was. I was scared

The new cap should have done it ... the spies will have our old gear until they get clearance from their employers to expense the new stuff:)

Interested in Lower, as someone said he wasn't recruited to play WAFL. Is he going to slot into the midfield or down back (where presumably Mzungu has already bolstered us)?

If Lower plays, he will play midfield. He can play on a flank, but his best position is in the midfield and one of the main reasons he didnt make it at port was because he wasnt played in the midfield

These threads are gold. The training reports are the only saviour through a long footyless summer.

The two reports in this thread are excellent. Really excited about Mzungu taking all before him.

Very worried about the number of players missing the majority of sessions. Don't think we'll see Stephen Hill at his best for the beginning of the year.

Ballantyne, Mundy, DeBoer, fyfe, Hill all missing numerous sessions. No Mora or Hayden. No Tarrant, Headland, Hasleby. This year might not be an improvement on last. Hopefully the stars line up better before round 1.

It seems they are taking a different approach to the pre-season this year possibly to counter the stress-fracture/soft-tissue injury problem. If you can't go at 100% on the track then you spend time on the bikes or doing other exercises that put less strain on the joints.

This considered opinion is from someone who hasn't attended a single training session and has no sport science or medical training. ;)

You forgot the best of the lot - Hinkley and Roberts.

Harves tough ,he,s a pussy;),last pre on a really stinking hot day he sent the property man over with a hat for me and another old fella, was worried about us getting sunstroke :D

He's a class act Harves.

Remember that before the final last year against the Hawks he went around and spoke to the people in wheelchairs and their carers and gave them some gear :thumbsu:

Glass half full.... You dont win premierships in May, what if with all these injuries we still win most of the opening games... by rnd 12 we have a full squad ( exc Mora:(), with plenty of young hungry blokes getting game time pushing all for the 21. Our squad can only get better.

I still have Freo vs WC (70 point win), Our Finals win, Carlton Rd22 and our demolition of North on my Foxtel IQ to tide me over in addition to these threads!!

Ditto!! Got rid of the Carlton game as I still cannot believe how we almost let it go.

Just watched Hawks game last night...good times!

Injuries or not they have a lot of depth & 7 weeks up their sleeves. Everyone will hit panic stations if they don't have a full list to pick from in the first pre-season match, but the reality is that may be a blessing in disguise with young fellas given extra opportunities and added game time. Like what happens every year, someone comes from no where and impresses the football world.

For those who are going to training on a regular basis I have a question.

Is it me or has McPhee lost some bulk. In some trainig photos he looks heaps slimmer than when we picked him up last year.

You must have missed a lot of posts that have touched up on this already. Compared to last year Mcphee looks like a POW. He has slimmed down a hell of a lot but still has his super defined physique. Maybe he may turn into a midfielder after all.

Certainly looks that way. Could be a very valuable player for us next year.

Did anyone head down this morning?

Would also be over the moon if McPhee to prove this Fat, Balding prick wrong.

Some questionable quotes in the article like;

"Plain and simple, McPhee will never play in a Dockers premiership. And while he may not yet be what Garry Lyon refers to as a list clogger, he's certainly knocking on the door."

and

"The decision to sign Mark Johnson was a comical error and, despite the club's persistence, Kepler Bradley is little more value."
