Let me know if I have this right. Not trying to jinx us or anything..

Obviously we win this week, we got to the Prelim.

But if we lose, we play the winner of Sydney V Collingwood.

Now here's the question, we drop this weeks game and Sydney beat Collingwood, even though we finish on top, do we have to travel interstate in week 2?

Interesting scenario given we finished 1st.

I know that we should never think this way, easy way out of that is, we win this week no matter what! But it's food for thought..

No we play in Victoria, probably MCG again. No matter what happens. Another advantage of finishing in the top 4.

Good, that's actually what I thought happened too. I've just heard a lot of conflicting stories on this already that's all.

Here's the scenario..

WIN - week off; home prelim final.
LOSE - home semi final; away prelim final.

If we win, yep, to the prelim.

If we lose, we play at the MCG in Week2 against Hawthorn/Adelaide.

Then we would play a preliminary final interstate.

MUST WIN THIS WEEK!

Prelim interstate? Not good. Not good at all..

Easily fixed though... We win this week!

It's a simple as that and the rest of the equation is out the window.

If we lose this week we play the winner of Adelaide V Hawks, not Sydney V Collingwood.

Strange for the Hun to make a mistake, but when they have Cooney kicking our goals and T Selwood in our best, then Joel in Brisbane's:D
Not to mention The Age putting Nathan in our best.

Definately no travel for semi if we lose this week.
this aint 97 no more

Yeah I totally agree with you there!! :thumbsu:

But the point is if we lose this week, we'll head to either Perth or Adelaide for the Prelim (should we of course make it through the semi). I'd prefer to avoid that scenario at ALL costs. We really gotta win this week! With the injuries we have, the week off will no doubt be most welcome.

And I'm pretty sure we would play the loser of Sydney/ Pies in the semi. I think I read that in the Herald Sun today.

No, should we lose, we will be playing the winner of Hawthorn and Adelaide.

The Hun and The Age had conflicting paths to the finals in today's papers, The Age was right this time.

You'd think "Melbourne's Number One paper" would get something as important as the finals series path correct.

I blame Mike.

Thanks SJ. :)
